A Commonwealth, Warts and All

So we have Communists, Monarchists, Liberals and Nationalists.

This is going to be berry fun.

So world map? Or shall I have to burn down the blind puppy orphanage :) (We need an evil smile icon on this website)

I don't buy the Swedish and Danish partipation. In OTL Scanian War which was part of the Franco-Dutch War Sweden joined France, while co-belligiant with the Dutch side against Sweden. The Danish fleet did well against Sweden, and Denmark occupied all Swedish and Gottorp possesions in North Germany and had some succes in Scania and Bohuslen in the start of the War, only with the peace treaty Denmark was forced to give back the Swedish territories it occupied in Germany against minor war reparations.

Sweden at this point are a close French ally, and would almost certainly join the French side in the war. While Denmark are going to join the anti-Swedish side if it feel a chance for it, because it want Scania back.

Of course even with great Danish succes it's unlikely to gain Scania, but it could regain the 1643 Norwegian borders, Gottorp and gain some or all Sweden North German possesions. While a Swedish victory would in worst case result in the loss of Trondheim or Schleswig-Holstein (to the Gottorps).

Thanks for the feedback. In reply to Sweden being pro-French in OTL, in this timeline the Commonwealth is a powerful nation with a good army, one of the best. Thus they contacted Sweden about an alliance due to their Protestantism, and the Swedish accepted (the English and Swedish used to be allies I believe?)

The main difference between OTL Scanian War and this Scandinavian Theater is that in this Timeline the Commonwealth is now allied with Sweden, alongside the Dutch. Thus with more allies that have very good navies the Swedish fair much better across the sea from Denmark. While I forgot to mention it, Swedish Pomerania was taken by the Danish, it was just the Danish overseas territories that suffered defeats due to the Anglo-Swedish naval force.

The Commonwealth while it has done well aren't much more powerful than OTL England at this point, it has potential to become so, but right now it has around 5-6 million people, against 16-18 millions in France*. Army-wise OTL Commonwealth army was rather overrated, yes it may have been the best army ever on English soil, but the English was quite good at keeping foreign armies out thank to the large and high quality navy, comparable with continental armies it was at best average, and I really doubt that you changes would raise it much above that.

Sweden had no problem allying with the French in OTL even while the French ethnic cleansed and murdered Protestants. About them being allies, Sweden and England had never to my knowledge been allies at this point in history, while much of Swedens position in Germany was dependent on its close alliance with France.

Yes and Denmark wouldn't give up a village in Norway for Faroe, a bunch of useless rocks in the North Atlantic with 2-3000 inhabitants.
