A Child of Music and...St Olaf

Liberace and Betty White were reportedly involved at one point. Suppose it actually happened and a child came of it - does said person go into show business? If not what becomes of them?

Firstly how credible is the rumour of their involvement? Most gay stars of the period's publicists arranged straight "romances" to deflect suspicion and some went as far as to set up velvet marriages.
Secondly, assuming that a child was produced as a consequence of some liaison it is fairly improbable that the child goes into show business. There unquestionably have been some theatrical dynasties (like the Lupino Lanes or the Chaplins) and some musical dynasties (like the Strauss family or the Wagners) but in the majority of cases the children either don't follow in their parents footsteps or don't catch the public imagination to the same degree. And possibly did not inherit their talent.
Even if the child does follow in the footsteps of their progenitors they are unlikely to have the same degree of success or recognition. The man in the street has, for instance, probably only ever heard of one of the Chaplin family (Charlie) and doesn't know that John Wayne had two sons who were also actors.
Even if the child does make career choices based on show business they might choose to be something relatively obscure like a lighting engineer, choreographer or stage designer.

Betty White has acknowledged that they spent significant time together and that she was (at least) a 'beard' for him. He never admitted to being gay although the evidence favors it and as above the possibility is there for other relationships/encounters.
