I know, i know, another WW2 thread but hear me out.

I have a load of PODs, come lifted from other threads, some my own. I know some of them are fairy insignificant, but it all adds up in a weird sort of way. I'm doubting that all these things would add up to an Axis victory, but it could probably extend the war by a significant amount.

Winter War

OTL Finland was unprepared but still did shockingly well.

I propose a Finland that was prepared for the war, and Sweden decides to help out it's neighbour. Due to the Soviet's shear weight of numbers, Finland eventually signs the peace treaty, but only looses Karelia, and of course, the Soviets loose far more men.
Also, when Stalin declares war on Finland, starting the Continuation War, maybe he declares war on Sweden too. Granted Sweden is hardly a great power, but it's another country to fight

IRA

The IRA was a fairly weak force, but let's say they double their efforts for what it's worth

Iceland

Iceland had no military to speak of, but let's say it does what little it can to resist British occupation, leading to a civilian resistance.

Enigma

Fairy simple; the Allies fail to break the Enigma Code

Greece

Italy doesn't attack Greece, although Metaxes, who greatly looked up to Mussolini and Hitler, joins the war on the Axis side. This would allow an earlier Barbarossa, perhaps even a win at the battle of Moscow.

Yugoslavia

No Yugoslav coup, so basically an Axis Yugoslavia

Invasion of Darwin

The Japanese invade Darwin in 1942 as discussed here. Thereby being able to long-range bomb the rest of Australia. Also, MacArthur's escape from the Philippines could be blocked seeing as Batchelor Airfield would have been in Japanese hands.

No Extermination

Instead of killing the Jews and such, Hitler uses them as slaves, thereby increasing German production. Perhaps making more trucks for the infantry

Assembly Lines

Put them in pretty much all German factories.

Long-Range Bombers

Nuff said?

Winter Uniforms for German Troops in Russia

Seems obvious, but something Hitler overlooked

Heavy Tanks

Simplify the design with sloping armour, then build some. Maybe the Maus, maybe the Ratte, maybe the Monster. I'm not sure how many or which should be built, gap in my knowledge here >.<

Perhaps build one Monster, use it in battle then tell the world they have many, many more.

South America

The Ecuadorian-Peruvian war spills over into something bigger. I've seen it discussed on here before but i can't for the life of me remember what the thread was called. Either was, it was discussed that Chile, Argentina and Bolivia may have attacked Peru due to a mixture of old grudges and terrible judgement (Don't remember the exact reasons). This war is a grinding stalemate for months, then when America joins WW2, Peru calls for help. The Axis see an oppertunity and declare their alligance to Ecuador and her allies, thereby draining America's resources, manpower and time as they intervene in the South American war to protect the Panama Canal. Pro-Axis Paraguay joins the war too, they almost did join the war in OTL, but decided against it, maybe we can reverse that desicion.

Of course Argentina makes a quick grab at the Falklands, not really cosequential, but it's bound to happen.

River Plate

Better German tactics here save the Graf Spee, perhaps sinking the Exeter in the process in they're lucky.

Spain

Not a new concept by any means, but Franco joins the war in exchange for Gibraltar and Morocco. This allows Gibraltar to be seiged and maybe even taken, severing a major Allied supply route and perhaps leading to the fall of Malta.

Dunkirk

The Germans run right up to the channel in time to stop Operation Dynamo, thereby killing or capturing over 300,000 Allied troops

Afghanistan

In October 1941, the British and Soviets issued an ultimatum to the Afghans demanding that they expel all Germans and Italians. They did. But let's assume they didn't and suffered the same fate as Iran, thereby bogging down more Allied troops fighting against the 75,000 thousand Afghan troops. Granted this would have been reasonably easy, but again, another drain on the allies.

Charles DeGaul

He is killed in the fall of France. This probably wouldn't stop there being a French resistance, but it might weaken it a little.

Azad Hind

Make the Azad Hind more active, add a couple of anti-British uprisings to the mix.

Pearl Harbour

No major changes here, just that Japanese bombers manage to take out the oil tanks and submarine base.

Thailand

Thailand becomes an active Japanese ally, actually contributing forces to the war.

Chechnya

The local insurgency gets bigger. I know it's fairly akin to my ideas regarding the IRA and the Azad Hind, but still. Larger Chechen insurgency.

So there you go, those are my ideas.

How would they have effected the war? No doubt it would have been bigger and longer, but would it effect they outcome in any way?

Looking forward to your thoughts :)
