A Blair-Paddy Coalition

Let's say that for whatever reason, Blair promises in 1996 that he will only govern as one party if Labour get the majority of the popular vote, and if not he will form a coalition with the Lib Dems to ensure national unity, or whatever. What would be the results of such a coalition, and would it even survive long enough for Iraq?

With all due respect, unless he has a very small majority, Blair will be deposed by his own MPs within days of trying to implement this.

In Blair's autobiography he says he had talks with Paddy about some form of deal, basically on a "Tories locked out for 20 years" thing.

Blair would then break that promise, theres no way he would bring the LD's into government if he had a Labour Majority
