Being Portuguese, I feel very sad at the events in our brother country, Brazil. I wonder: What would Brazil look like today if Aécio Neves had won in 2014? It was definitely possible, the election was very close.
Senator Neves is currently on trial as one of the major politicians involved in Lava Jato (Car Wash) Scandal, the biggest corruption scandal in Brazilian history. So, I can imagine Neves be impeached and removed as Rousseff in favor of his Vice-President Aloysio Nunes. Nunes seems a pretty good moderate politician so maybe he avoids the disastrous pro-corporation pro-austerity economic policies that Michel Temer enacted after the "coup" against Rousseff. Without corruption charges (as for Temer), Nunes can run in 2018 and take a 15-20% of vote that the polls assigned to Temer at the beginning of his Presidency. However Rouseff runs again and, with less social anger in the air, is able to win against Nunes himself and Bolsonaro.
