9/11 against Israel

Israel is MUCH more careful about airline security and was much more careful even before 2001.

I do not see an airliner headed for Israel being hijacked.

I suspect if some other airliner were flown, in suspicious circumstances, towards Israel the military would be much more willing to shoot it down

I could be way off base here, but wasn't Bush showing some willingness to distance himself from Israel diplomatically prior to 9/11?

There's no way an attack on Israel generates enough political capital for the US administration to push through any of the goals it undertook IOTL, so I see Republican spokesmen simply stating some generic and rather blank sympathy, tinged with a hint of disdain for "these two cultures who can't help killing each other" (in their sentiments, not their words.)

For Israel, security gets tighter and the wall goes up with less opposition. I can't exactly picture what happens in the settlements. Maybe the military clears them out even quicker and more thoroughly due to a fear that they can't protect the settlers and feel another attack could lead to open war.
Or maybe the anger over the attack is enough to let them linger and provoke more violence as an excuse to bring harsher retribution.

The Lebanon War, though subject to butterflies, is a likely outlet for their rage. Maybe they push farther?

Can the Palestinian government survive?

(and I'm aware that if the hijackers follow the profile of 9/11 they won't be Palestinian, but it's obvious that the Palestinians will be the ones to suffer.)
