75th Jubilee Celebration ?

Now Edward VII was not the most responsible of heirs and of course that ended up being a good thing for the UK since it led to QE2.

But assuming Eddie meets and falls for a lady love sometime in the early 1920's. They have a son, James, born around 1924 or so.

Edward dies from pneumonia in 1930.

In 1937 (we'll give him an extra year) George V dies and is suceeded by James III (with a regency of sorts probably through the end of WW2).

He has the same good genes as his cousin Elizabeth and lives a long life.

So this week marks the 75th anniversary of his monarchy and the 88 year old King is in good form.

Thoughts ?

First, it would be James VIII.
Second, I don't see the point of this thread, unless it's supposed to be a DBWI.

The goal of the thread was just a thought process

People have been discussing all the changes during QE2's reign.

Consider the changes during James' reign.

When he becomes King, radio and movies are still relatively new, air travel still unique, the Empire still largely intact. Radio is something like the internet, most people have used it but many remember a life without it and some refuse to accept it.

He'd be the first radio monarch, the first TV monarch and the first internet monarch, all in one.

Just pondering the cultural impact of that long of a reign, even more than the current one.
