Just a tad...

To be fair though, there really weren't many other battles (outside of the Western World) suggested in that thread though. Still, he probably should've selected at least one of the ones suggested.

Just stating the truth.

Battle of Talas for one.

Can't have the spread of Islam in Central Asia if it wasn't for the Arabs defeating the Chinese.

No, I agree with you. But there weren't a lot of suggestions outside of Europe and North America (aka USA) from what I read in the original thread.

There were a few though, and there were also a few battles mentioned that are way better candidates than the ones avaiable in this poll...
Yeah there were, and I wish he had taken some of them, or if we could've voted on the battles that would make up the top ten. I was just pointing out that the great majority of the battles submitted it seemed (I could be wrong, as I didn't read all of it) were Euro/USA centric.

I suppose the Battle of Yarmouk seems to be vastly underrated. Both Tours and Manzikert basically totally fly out of the window if the Arabs are defeated at Yarmouk.

Well...this pretty much proves that it is indeed impossible to reach an agreement about which battles that more influential to world history...
Alright then...I'll cancel my "50 Most Decisive Battles in World History" project...

Well, that happens when you pick up battles that weren't, y'know, decisive. Of the 10 put into the poll only 2 IMO (Yarmuk & Adrianopole) changed the course of history by their result themselves.
