Ok...Let's say that Jesse is able to over take Clinton,Tsongas, and Brown during the 1992 Democrat Primary season and gets the necessary amount of delegates to win the nomination. And with all the ideas from previous posts that more than likeley Ross would have probably stayed in by having much more room to be seen as the "Centrist" Candidate from Conservative Bush Sr. and Liberal Jackson.
Now when it comes time to the actual general election and the vetting process for VP, ITTL, Bush is probably more likely to keep Quayle. With having Jesse as the Democratic Nominee, although him and Jerry Brown were pretty close...I still think, in hopes of still trying to put a dent in the Republican South, sow up some of the old wounds that still may exist from the 88 primaries against Gore/the 92 primaries against Clinton, and hopes to boost Jackson foreign policy...I think a wise choise would to pick long-term Senator from Arkansas, Dale Bumpers...
But even a Jackson/Bumpers ticket isn't probably enough, and Perot Staying in the race probably isnt enough for Jesse to get the necessary amount of 270 electoral votes to win the election outwright...However, it may keep him in the majority going into a House of Representive's battle...
Let's say Bush Sr. in TTL, is able to take away from Jackson: (The alotted difference of change from OTL) Georgia - 6,858 votes (0.30%); New Hampshire - 3,279 votes (0.61%); Ohio - 45,317 votes (0.92%); New Jersey - 39,671 votes (1.19%); Montana - 5,151 votes (1.25%); Nevada - 6,661 (1.32%); Kentucky - 23,964 votes (1.61%); Colorado - 33,416 votes (2.13%); Wisconsin - 55,106 votes (2.18%); Tennessee - 46,111 (2.33%). And that Perot is able to swing Maine into his column.
So Jackson is able to be sworn in by the Democratic Congress as the 42nd President...What measures from a slightly less aggressive campaign platform from his previous run might he try to push? Might he enlist the Clinton's aid, for a more open approach to a Universal Health Care System? What would be the effect of reopening some of the New Deal like aid to farmers have on the economy? Welfare? and even affirmitive action? What would have been Jackson desicion on Don't Ask don't Tell? NAFTA?
Also with Newt's Revolution and the Contract with America...They will proably a wider base of candidates in 96 to run against Jackson? How likely is it that Jackson will only make 1 term?
