2nd POD AH Challenge: Make France join the NEA in Weimar World

So that's the idea behind it: A united Europe without one major European country within it isn't really a united Europe. While this is of course still true if Switzerland or Norway aren't within, united Europe would rather look like half of a Europe if any of the Top Four (UK, Germany, France, Italy) wouldn't be part of it.

This board has an ATL with a really alternate United Europe missing a country known as a fundamental part of OTL United Europe. The ATL is Weimar World, the ATL EU is the NEA, and the formentioned missing country is France which even got expelled from its own Francophonie in this ATL. And as France is outside the ATL United Europe, the NEA is still somewhat half of a Europe as you can see in the 1980's map.

So here comes the challenge: Make an alternate Weimar World with a France becoming part of the NEA during the course of the 20th century.

I'd go for a toughter war with Italy. If Poland attacks Germany or Czechoslovakia in a mad bid to relieve Italy, both will fight on the same side. This might be a first step which could be gradually built upon.

Edit: Also, this is not a DB Challenge. A double blind works when you post from an ATL about how OTL would evolve.

There is the problem that I want the thread title to make clear that I am asking for PODs after PODs, resulting in ATLs within ATLs.

EDIT: And as I don't know how to change thread titles, I cannot change this myself. How would you call it? ATL AH Challenge? Double tier ATL?
There are many ASBs dependant on other ASBs at this board (ISOT Earth to Home which is impossible withouth the Race), so there is a lesser problem with terminology. Mh... say Weimar World Challenge? People still need to see in the title that the challenge is within an ATL.

"Weimar World WI" would do the trick. And you can't change the title.
I was only informing you what a DBWI is for future reference.

I would suggest the 1990s as the most likely time. France has lost the Union, is shaken by the nuclear event in the disintergration of the Soviet Union, and would likely be most receptive at that time to unification with the NEA. I'd suggest that they enter talks at that time, with the culmination being entry of France into the NEA and the European Federation in 2004 at the EF founding.

This would also tip over Belgium and the Netherlands earlier.
