25th Dynasty in Egypt

How would Egypt have developed had this dynasty defeated the invading Assyrians and lasted much longer, possibly still in power at the time of Alexander the Great?

Funny, I was wondering extensively about this time period as well. I guess the main question is how does the Kingdom of Kush defeat the Assyrians? The Assyrians at this point are near the height of their power.

Perhaps Taharqa creates a contingency plan after halting Esarhaddon's advance into Lower Egypt. Then he lures Esarhaddon into a trap in the delta and prevents the siege of Memphis? A succession crisis follows buying Taharqa some time and he maybe uses captured Assyrian troops to train his army? There's no doubt that the Assyrians will return to avenge their defeat and his successor Ashurbanipal's generals proved capable of reaching Thebes OTL. The Kushites would have to be really lucky to best the Assyrians repeatedly if they throw all they have into fighting in Egypt, and the Assyrians are capable of doing so.

However, I personally think it's best for the 25th dynasty to focus on internal matters instead of constantly fighting Assyria. I can't see the Assyrians wasting time in Egypt if they're not supporting rebellions in the Levant. If the dynasty is still in place after the Assyrian empire starts to implode then the dynasty could very well join a coalition to defeat the Assyrians once and for all. They could then establish their presence in the Levant, though its likely to lead to conflicts with who ever succeeds in picking up the pieces of the Assyrian empire.

The 25th dynasty was a time of flowering for Egyptian culture. The empire is as big as it was during the New Kingdom (minus the Levant). New temples were constructed and old ones were rebuilt, and even pyramids were created again. Of all of Egypt's conquerers, the 25th dynasty is perhaps the most in tune with Egypts culture while simultaneously not dismantling its vigour and persistence.

The 25th dynasty, as part of the Kushite empire would lead to the growth of trade with the rest of Africa too as the Nile, from the Mediterranean coast to at least today's Khartoum is safe for travel. Perhaps a greater Nile valley influence on Dmt?

I can see the 25th
dynasty being similar to the Neo Babylonians in that there's a cultural resurgence in a fertile region, rebuilding an area devastated by disunion and war.
