All references to "Communists" are replaced by "fascists" but the same annexations and so on take place. If coalitions are needed, they can do one with Centrists and from there rightwards.

February 2nd, 1992: Army units under Hugo Chavez's command move into urban Caracas with the mission of overwhelming key military and communications installations, including the Miraflores presidential palace, the defense ministry, La Carlota military airport and the Military Museum. After a bloody stand off "the dictatorship of the IMF" is toppled and the Red flag hoisted...

January 14th, 1994: A helicopter accident kills Subcommander Marcos and about a dozen other EZLN fighters. Presuming military action, EZLN quickly retaliates against the Mexican government with extreme brutality. The ensuing shoot out kills over 78 civilians, 14 of which are confirmed to have been American tourists. Suspected contact with the FARC and financial support from President Hugo Chavez and his regime later in the year quickly spurs military action...

September 14th, 1993: Superchunk releases "On The Mouth" as a single, capitalizing off the unexpected success of their latest album of the same name.

November 3rd, 1993: "Gene Clark" is released as a single by Teenage Fanclub to promote their latest album, Thirteen. Critics are divided but mainstream audiences devour both.

December 18th, 1993: Polvo releases their second album, Today's Active Lifestyles. It appears the band is riding off the success of their contemporaries as it proves an unexpected success on college radio.

26th June 1992: A first half strike from Dennis Bergkamp sees Holland win their second European Championship in a row, beating Germany 1-0. Holland had beaten a lacklustre England side 3-1 in the semifinals, with Germany winning 2-0 against host nation Sweden.

17th July 1994: The World Cup final becomes the first to be decided on penalties as Italy defeat Brazil following a 2-2 draw, with Roberto Baggio scoring the decisive spot-kick in the shootout.

30th June 1996: England win the European Championship for the first time in their history, beating the Czech Republic 3-1 at Wembley. Paul Gascoigne had been the man of the moment in the semifinals with his golden goal against Germany, and his goal, England's second, put the host nation out of sight on the stroke of half time, with Alan Shearer scoring twice and Patrick Berger scoring a consolation in stoppage time.
