Considering this one was made in 2018, and we are only one page 200 after 3 years? They won't likely hit 500 until 2023 or 2024... also the 500 page limit was really a thing of vbulletin, now that we are on xenforo it's not as pressing a reason anymore
Well, since Mark and Lord Caedus are already looking forward to 2026 and 2030 it's a fair point
Seaborn backs bipartisan budget proposal as shutdown enters second day

President Sam Seaborn took to the media early this morning to support the budget agreed upon by a bipartisan group of senators as his alternative to the one offered by House Republicans.
The president quickly endorsed the budget proposed by the "Gang of Ten", led by senators Curtis Ryan (R-OR) and Hubert "Arkansas" Smith (D-AR) that would retain current levels of funding for most social programs and stripping language to remove federal funds from schools and universities teaching "critical race theory" from the proposed budget.
"This is not the budget I'd write, but it's a budget that I'll accept," the president said in a press conference early this morning. "It preserves the funding of social programs used by millions of Americans of all ages across this country, and allows our educators to continue teaching our students and young adults painful, but necessary, lessons of this nation's history with race without fear of losing all their federal funding."
The bipartisan group released their report late Monday night, to relatively little fanfare before Seaborn's endorsement.
The "Gang of Ten" includes five Republicans (Ryan, Michael Rojas of New Mexico, Patrick Stacy of Tennessee, Ellie Wilkins of New Hampshire and George Wirth of Montana) plus five Democrats (Smith, Arthur Breech of Hawaii, Ben Newell of Colorado, Rick Remick of Louisiana and Becky Reeseman of Michigan). After the president's endorsement, most congressional Democrats began issuing statements praising the plan as an alternative, blunting attacks by conservatives and Republicans that the Democrats did not have a plan to offer instead of the proposed GOP budget.
Current polling shows that registered voters hold Republicans to be more responsible for the shutdown, with 42% of voters blaming the GOP, 32% blaming either the president or the Democratic Party, and 22% blaming both sides equally.
Well they did deal with real world stuff in the show. So it makes sense that idiocy would find its way here. Though Anti-Vaxx stuff is likely at Pre-covid levels.
Well if they're gonna deal with real world stuff, they should tackle a pandemic at some point.
At the moment that is not currently in our plans for the coming year.
Critical race theory is an actual thing would almost certainly exist ITTL since it developed out of academic writings that were written before the main POD of Reagan falling into a coma in 1985.
Of course, the conservative fever swamps' misinterpretation of what it is and who it is being taught to could have been butterflied away, but it's honestly pretty hard to think that the people who live on a steady drip of Fox News wouldn't look at an academic theory about structural racism in the United States and freak out.
We're still in the middle of a pandemic that has killed 5 million people worldwide in less than two years.
It will be a long time before we even think of tackling a pandemic.
BREAKING: FBI investigating Michigan oil spill

The Department of Justice (DOJ) announced that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has opened an investigation into the causes of last week's oil spill in Michigan after being contacted by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), which has been investigating the causes of the oil spill.
"While we cannot go into specifics at this time," a DOJ spokeswoman said, "NTSB investigators contacted the FBI Detroit field office on Sunday and supplied them with information regarding the conduct of certain individuals that they believed showed criminal intent."
Both NTSB and DOJ officials stressed that there is no indication that last week's spill was the result of foul play. The pipeline's owner, Enbridge, has said that there was no indication that the section of pipe that cracked had been disturbed prior to its excavation by the company post-accident.

Hoffman wins easy re-election in New Jersey, Hugh Harrison will be new Governor of Virginia
New Jersey Governor Kelly Hoffman coasted to re-election against her Republican opponent Ruth McCabe, the states Senate Republican leader. The margin with 98% of the vote counted it looks like being over 13%.
In the Commonwealth of Virginia, it was a closer fight, but State Representative Hugh Harrison defeated Republican candidate, former state AG Cal Shepherd. The margin here is likely to be around 6% with again 98% of the vote counted.
Both Hoffman and the Commonwealth's out-going Governor Bobby Tyler are believed to be on President Seaborn's short-list to be his running-mate next year. Certainly Hoffman's win after her squeaker win four years ago, has enhanced her political stock. Governor Tyler will leave office with an approval rating of 67%, something which clearly helped Harrison in his victory.

Kim Elected Mayor as Progressives Increase Power in Municipal Politics

Democrat Gerald Kim has been elected Mayor of New York City, defeating his Republican opponent John D. Kelly. Kim will take office as the city's first Asian-American and non-white mayor in city history on January 1, when he will succeed embattled incumbent Richard Corey. He improved on Mayor Corey's 2017 results both in raw numbers and percentage, although narrowly in both regards. Kim's victory comes after he and other progressives in New York won Democratic primaries earlier this summer. He has promised to focus on the city's struggling transit system, police reform, a more environmentally conscious city, and new solutions for housing and renting. One of his first tasks as mayor will be to appoint a new Commissioner of Police, as the position has been vacant since September due to the resignation of Commissioner John R. Kelly in the aftermath of the Section 19 crisis.
Last night's elections saw the highest number of votes cast in any election in the city's history. Progressive prosecutor Jean-Pierre Roquefort was elected New York District Attorney, and the Alliance for Progress increased its numbers in the city council from 3 to 15 with the election of 12 new members. New York City was also crucial in passing several key statewide ballot measures to enshrine a right to clean air and water in the state's constitution and increase the jurisdiction of the civil courts.
