Finally getting down to the business of getting my country together. Any policy on players? I assume we're sticking with real-life players, but do they have to be from the area of the world where our country is? I thought about doing that, but then I realized my country (basically the Midwestern US) would be total crap if I did that.

No you don't have to use real life player, mine were all fictional

well IRL players from the national football teams need to have the nationality of the country. So in your case I would go for fictional players, as now having French players doesn't really make sense

Well, this is a AH World Cup, correct? Well, my country just so happens to be settled mostly by German, French, and Irish immigrants. So you see, it makes perfect sense.

Yeah, but picking a selection of top-players seems a bit cheating to me further more Hummels is already part of @Xibalba 's Germany team. And with your country's background with French Immigrants, having French ex-colonials like Sissoko and Martial seems unlike.

Whoops. I'll take Hummels out. I thought I had checked to make sure that I didn't overlap with anyone else, guess I missed one. Thanks!
I chose Sissoko just to have a Spur, I admit. It is pushing it, so I'll take him and Martial out.
As for picking top players, there's nothing in the rules against it!

I'd like to put forward Sierra Madre's bid to host the 2018 AHFA World Cup:

Sierra Madre 2018

We are offering 12 stadiums across 12 cities in the country's three states. Each group's 6 matches will be divided evenly between venues Nuevo León, Coahuila and Tamaulipas, with each team playing in 2 or 3 different states. The final and third place match will be played in Monterrey and San Pedro respectively, while Santander and Torreón will host the semifinals.

Sierra Madre offers a wide rail and highway network, as well as world-class training camps for all the squads, provided by the various teams that compose the Sierra Madre First Division. Fans will be welcomed by a enthusiastic and friendly population, who will make them feel at home. For those who come to the World Cup but don't have tickets for the matches, fan zones will be placed in the main plazas and squares of the host cities so everyone can enjoy the games and live the World Cup experience.

Yeah, I don't know what it exacly is but it's certainly authoritarian and the gear on it's flag could be either.
