Here's the first LTTW thread. Unless you're a serious glutton for punishment, though, I recommend the Finished thread instead.

The shortest possible way to describe what it's about it that it's about one group of crosstime travelers trying to rescue an earlier group that was captured in London. As they work, they research how this world became such a weird and scary place.

Well, that's just the framing device really. What it is about is 'the world', and how different it could be (to be really vague)... but it begins with a British Prince exiled to America, if that helps.

Also, some stuff happens differently.

I wouldn't say it's that much of a scary place any more than OTL. As for weirdness, maybe a bit strange by OTL's POV since identity becomes a primary historical lens over economics in defining the nation-state, but to each their own. Just wouldn't want to give the impression it's a dystopia; some ways LTTW does better than our world, while in others it falls short.

Have the Turtledoves become less of a thing? I swear I used to be in 6th or 7th place, not third. :p

Congratulations Direwolf. I wouldn't want to win it every year and I am pleased with the number of votes LTTW got as it shows people are reading the newer stuff I've been writing on there (hopefully).

Thanks Thande. I'm sure you will mount a serious case to retake it next year.

I imagine this was probably if not the closest but one of the closest races on the board.

On another note huge thank you to everyone who voted for DaL
