I assume it's gonna be Shallick, unless the Republican's are hell bent on being Goldwaterized, Gault hasn't won any of the big electoral prizes in the primaries, the way I see it, Gault is not going anywhere, the Republicans know this, not if he wants a future shot! Shallick has the support of Walken and the establishment; also the Republican party and Gault needs to wake up to the fact, that Seaborn will demonize the party and Gault as well, if he is the nominee. Curtis Ryan seems to be a better option for Shallick, he will win the south, so no worries there as Seaborn will not make much headway south of the Mason-Dixon line.
True about Gault in the terms that the biggest state in terms of delegates he has won is Georgia and it's 76 delegates.
We have tried to portray him as a combination of Mike Huckabee in 20008 & Rick Santorum in 2012.

2012 2016 elections had the press growing to hate local Iowa Pizza and chicken buffet chain Pizza Ranch (we're Midwesterners so yeah we like buffets). I worked at a pizza ranch and they all were holier than thou for the management.

I see a lot of them mentioned in the primaries for Iowa.

Right now my gut tells me the GOP convention will go terrible. Chaos, confusion, and more!

in 2008, the biggest state that Obama won was Illinois. all of the larger and similar size states were won by Clinton.

It's plausible that Gault could win Pennsylvania, but he's playing catch up & would need to run the table to have any chance. So perhaps it's doable, but not very likely. "Threading the needle" is pretty tricky anytime.

Straus gains "Formal recognition" as a Green Party candidate for President

Haydn Straus has confirmed that he will be seeking the Green Party nomination for President. Formal recognition is required for any candidate seeking the Green party Presidential nomination.

Straus, a former Democratic Senator from Ohio (2010 to 2016) briefly sort the Democratic nomination last year, before withdrawing and starting an independent run for The White House. Straus believes that the Democrats choice of Franklin Hollis as Sam Seaborn's running-mate will turn off swathes of liberal Democrats and gives him a real chance of stopping either party nominee of reaching the magic 270 electoral votes needed to win on November 6th.

In a statement on his website Straus said "I am delighted to have gained formal recognition by the Green Party as a candidate for the nomination. I and the party share many of the same goals and a vision of America, a America free from corporate greed, an America that gives everyone of it's citizens an income, and an America that abandons it's war machine for peaceful cooperation, leading towards a Socialist-Green world Government in hopefully in just a decades time".

The party has decided against use of a primary & caucus system in favour of a direct state vote at the Green Party convention in Boston which starts on August 6th, the only other candidate to be grated "formal recognition" status is Susan Buckner, the daughter of 1998 Independent candidate Jim Buckner.

Supreme Court Hands Indiana Primary To Shallick; Declares Contested Votes Invalid

After weeks of wrangling, debate and expedited hearings the Supreme Court has finally settled the Indiana Primary by upholding the ruling of the Indiana Supreme Court that the votes contested by the campaign of Kansas Governor Peter Gault can not be counted.

Chief Justice Evelyn Lang wrote the majority opinion in an 7-2 decision with only arch-conservatives Justice Mulready and Justice Hoyt ruling in favour of Gault.

The decision is a huge relief to Shallick who in parallel with the SCOTUS case has seen his lead in the critical Pennsylvania Primary dwindle as Gault’s message that the Republican Party establishment are attempting to “interfere” in the result seems to be gaining traction on the ground of the Keystone State.

This evening’s ruling appears to have Gault’s team doubling down on their message, senior advisor Matt Martin told reporters that “it’s quite telling when all of the most liberal, activists justices in the country are backing Governor Shallick - they want the status quo, they want more of the same. Only Peter Gault represents the comprehensive change that Washington needs.”

The Shallick campaign declared themselves “pleased” but re-iterated that their focus “was entirely on Pennsylvania”.

Howard: Hollis VP pick a "big mistake"

Washington Junior Senator Andrew Howard has become the first Senator to publically attack the decision of Senator Seaborn to pick Franklin Hollis as his running-mate last month. Howard is believed to has considered running himself for the nomination before endorsing fellow Senator Rudi Robinson.

In an interview to be broadcast on NBS tonight Howard told NBS host Mark Bunn "I think picking Hollis is a big mistake, I have told Senator Seaborn that myself face to face. I made it clear he should have picked Senator Robinson as his running-mate, and that they would have been a formidable ticket" adding "picking Franklin Hollis plays into the hands of not only the Republicans but also Haydn Straus and the Greens, I know we will lose votes to them if Straus is the nominee as looks likely, and in a close race that could be the difference between winning and losing, and more than possibly elect Peter Gault President".

Howard was also asked if he regrets not running this time around to which he replied "no" but adding "I am 40 years ago, I just coming up to two years into my second term in the Senate, I have plenty of time left to look at possibility of running for the Presidency, but the time has to be right and for my family, and 2018 was not right for them or me".

Gault Campaign Boosted By A Flood of Small Donations

In the light of the Supreme Court judgement the Gault campaign have reported a sudden surge in donations suggesting that they have gained significant momentum in all remaining states and races.

Governor Gault was in Pennsylvania today and told reporters that the response he was getting on the ground was “overwhelming” and taking a shot at the SCOTUS rulings saying “people are sick of the same Washington establishment protecting the status quo – they know which candidate represents change and they know which one is more of the same, it’s clear to me that the American people are uniting behind the people’s choice and that’s me.”

Polling of Republican primary votes in Pennsylvania suggests that since the contentious result in Indiana that Gault’s support has surged – he trailed Governor Shallick by 20 points and was being outspent by a ratio of 10:1 but in the past weeks the spending advantage appears to have been offset by a grassroots revolt. Matt Graham, a shop owner from Scranton told us that “people know a stacked deck when they see it, and this deck is sure stacked against Governor Gault – people are getting behind the underdog – I haven’t seen anything like it before.”

The Gault campaign are reinvesting their money quickly and are using the votes of the liberal Supreme Court justices as fire to emflame the base – one add simply asked “should ulta-liberal, Bartlet appointee Evelyn Baker Lang choose the Republican nominee or should you?”

The Shallick campaign are continuing with the strategy that has brought them within touching distance of the nomination. An ad wave is expected over the next week highlighting polling that shows Shallick to be much more competitive against Democratic nominee Sam Seaborn and play up the former White House Chief of Staff’s lifetime of political achievements.

Gault pushing hard in Pennsylvania with populist message as polls show dead heat with Shallick

Kansas Governor Peter Gault spent the weekend in Pennsylvania as most polls now showing him in basic tie with Henry Shallick ahead of the vital primary on April 24th. Gault is pushing his anti-establishment image.

He told a 10,000 strong rally in Pittsburgh "The cosy Washington elite think this Presidential election will be between two of their candidates, the ultra Liberal Democrat Seaborn or the semi-Liberal Republican Henry Shallick, nothing will change if these two, but with me you know what you are going to get, tough, honest and a proven record of Governing, look at my record in Kansas, getting people off welfare and back into work, job creation up, school test scores up, crime down, taxes down".

Gault really believes that if he can win all four of the remaining contests or at least three of them, he can win the nomination at the convention in Tampa in July.

Nick Carstairs, a shop worker in Pittsburgh told NBS "I have always voted Democrat, but I like the things Governor Gault is taking about, he is not a creature of the Washington insiders, I don't see any difference between Shallick and Seaborn, but Governor Gault is taking about things that matter to me, low wages, unsafe streets, and getting taxes down for working people, he is a refreshing change, he speaks human rather than politician".

London Mayoral debate dominated by Jay & Morgan clash

The first debate by candidates for London Mayor which was shown on BBC in London last night was dominated by an angry clash between Conservative Nigel Jay and Socialist Alliance candidate Jackie Morgan.

Morgan has come under increasing pressure over her policy of offering a flat rate fair of £1.50 across all TFL services in the capital which would paid for by a "Wealth & Banker Tax", something her opponents say the Mayor couldn't actually have the powers to introduce anyway. Labour's Dominic Eames called the plan "coming from cloud cuckoo land". Eames and main rival Conservative Nigel Jay didn't really attack each other with Eames saying of his Conservative opponent "he is a decent man, we don't always agree, but every one should respect his leadership of the Yes Campaign for equal marriage".

It was at this point where Morgan launched herself with an attack on Jay "Don't forget the Conservative candidate is a member of a party that introduced Section 28, that banned schools talking about gay issues, as a former Teacher it is disgraceful how he is even a Tory, how he can be gay and a Conservative is beyond me". Jay looked shocked by the attack before launching his response "Hold on a minute, Section 28 was thirty years ago, I was ten in 1988, I was more interested in getting a Ghostbusters Proton pack for Christmas in 1988" which drew laughs from the other candidates other than Morgan "seriously though, I have made my feelings on Section 28 clear, the Prime-Minister apologised for it, as did Andrew Carter as well, the Conservative Party of 2018 is not the same party of thirty years ago, I think everyone knows and accepts that fact".but Jay was not done "I find the double-standards of Mrs Morgan breathtaking, espically when you take into the account the things said about LGBT people by her own parties Mayor of Leicester Dawud Salma who also won 29% of the vote in the leadership election last year, I quote "Gays are a like a virus corrupting the young" or "We need to ban homosexuality, and imprison those that practise such an evil lifestyle", does she want to reply?".

Morgan said that the comments had "been taken out of context" but the exchange was regarded as a win for Jay.

That was the stand out moment of the hour long debate. The polls show Jay and Eames virtual level pegging around 39% of the vote each on the 1st preference vote. The Election will be held on Thursday May 3d with the results to be announced the following day.

Shallick Struggles To Stem the Populist Tide in Pennsylvania

With the critical Pennsylvania Primary less than a week away Republican front runner Henry Shallick is scrambling all his resources in an attempt to stop the wave of momentum currently rising behind his rival, Kansas Governor Peter Gault.

In the space of four weeks Shallick has watched a 22 point poll lead dwindle away as Gault has capitalised on growing disenchantment amongst GOP primary voters over the contested result in Indiana and what they believe is an attempt to coronate the former Governor of Missouri and close ally of President Walken.

A poll for Gallup & ABC news this morning suggests that Gault has pulled into the lead, enjoying a small lead over Shallick, a monumental turnaround in less than a month. Gault and his team are now throwing everything at the Keystone State seeing it as the key to forcing a contested convention, the best chance Gault now has of winning the nomination.

The Shallick campaign are doubling down on their now well established strategy – significant spending on attack ads attempting to undermine Gault’s “man of the people” positioning but polling and focus groups are suggesting that for the first time it’s not cutting through. Republican pollster Kim Jacoby told ABC that “the people we are speaking to have more or less blocked out any negatives on Governor Gault – they think any critique is part of an establishment coup to hand the nomination to Shallick, it’s tough to see how to cut through that.”

Shallick Team Urge Durham to Drop Out

Sources close to California Congressman Will Durham are suggesting that Republican front runner Henry Shallick’s team have reached out to his opponent in an attempt to push him out of the race before the Pennsylvania Primary.

Durham has repeatedly told backers and reporters that he “owes it to his supporters and voters to stay in the race all the way to the end” and those close to him have, until now, suggested that he intends to keep his word – helped largely by wealthy California donors who have bankrolled his campaign.

Politico has, however, learned that last week Governor Shallick made direct contact with Durham and for the first time asked him to drop out in an attempt to help defeat Kansas Governor Peter Gault in Kansas.

Republican analyst and Political Animal Host James Eaton told Politico that “this is type of panic move I’d expect from Shallick right now – they thought the race was won, but Indiana and the Supreme Court in particular has given new life to Gault and Shallick knows it. They’ve seen Durham’s principles as an amusing inconvenience until the last couple of weeks and now they are trying desperately to get him out.”

Former Vice-President Eisenhower "Time for Durham to join forces with Shallick"

In a rear public interview and intervention, former Republican Vice-President Lewis Eisenhower, the parties 1998 Presidential nominee has told NBS ahead of the Pennsylvania primary on Tuesday that Congressman William Durham should "join forces" with Henry Shallick to prevent what he calls would be a "total defeat if Peter Gault was the nominee".

"Congressman Durham has performed so well, I don't think anyone at the start of this process that he would be still be in it at this point, let alone winning five states as well. He is a credit to the party, but now it is time for him to join forces with Henry Shallick" asked by Mark Bunn if he was urging a Shallick/Durham ticket "That is for course up to Henry who he picks, but I think would be a really good balance". On Governor Gault "I don't disagree with every think he has said, but I feel and all the polls point to it, if that somehow he became the nominee, Senator Seaborn would carry the country apart from the deep south, you can't win a Presidential election on such a narrow base".

Bunn asked Eisenhower by the fact of this intervention he was reinforcing the central message of the Gault campaign that the Republican establishment was against him "no, it is about winning the election in November and the best candidate, that candidate is clearly Henry Shallick, he is just 40 delegates from the nomination, also something the Gault campaign never seem to mention is that he (Gault) cannot reach the required 1,281 delegates for the nomination even if he carries all the remaining states including Pennsylvania" adding "I have spoken to voters in Pennsylvania and they have been told by the Gault campaign that if he wins on Tuesday he would "deadlock" the nomination or in even in some cases win it, which is total rubbish".
