It's that time of the year again, time for your electoral predictions!
As an admittedly biased Republican, I'm pretty sure that the Clintonistas won't survive the economic crisis that is impending: indications that Bear Stearns, Fannie Mae and a few other companies are attempting to seek a Fed bail-out have caused the stock market to dip below 12,000 for the first time since Hillary took office. The upsurge in violence in Iraq caused by the withdrawal of troops from Iraqi cities also reflects poorly on her judgment. All of this bad news for the Democrats has resulted in Romney's closing to within the margin of error, a dramatic rise from this summer when he was as far back as 9 or 10 points.
My prediction is that the Romney-Thompson ticket will beat Clinton-Richardson by a hair. He will win all of the states Bush won in 2004, including Florida, and he will also nick Michigan (consistent 3 point lead) and Wisconsin (consistent 3 point lead) from the Democratic column. He only needs 5 more electoral votes, and I think he will get these from Nevada, which only barely voted for Hillary in 2004. I have hopes for Ohio, Iowa, and New Mexico, but I'll stay pessimistic and say that Romney wins 270-268 in the electoral college.
What do you guys think?
Hillary runs in 2004, beats President Bush, NO UNREALISTIC DEVIATIONS FROM OTL. Just a chance to role play...well. So no OOC comments, unless its me stepping in to nix someone's attempt to destroy this.
