2000 Election - More than 36 days

The main problem was that the television media decided in 2000 to dispense with the tried and true system of exit polling based on the AP, instead going to a new and disgustingly inept group.

In Florida, as an example, this group had two exit pollers for every three counties, which tells you how reliable the results were likely to be. In 2002 this group did no better, resulting in some House and at least one Senate seat being called, then reversed. They're out of business now.

Demosthenes, disproven by the facts. Buchanan in 2000 received @3200 votes in the general election in this county and @3000 in the Reform Party primary for the same county, a total of not quite 200 votes. So right there 99% of the 20,000 elderly Jewish votes turn out never to have existed in the first place. How unlikely is it that in an area with a large Catholic Republican base, including an estimated 80,000 Cuban-Americans, Buchanan could scrape up an additional 200 votes?

There is also the minor detail that Buchanan hates the Bush family and TWICE, in 1992 and 2000, tried to cost a member of the Bush family the election so finding that he lied about the results, in a further attempt to harm Dubya, would be completely typical. Let's not forget that only difference between Nader and Buchanan is that Nader did slightly more damage in 2000 to the more sympathetic candidate.
