From birth to freedom
(no comments so far fine well here's the next part sorry if update is short I have a cold)
Having done the bissness of splitting the nation the statesmen in the south go about preparing for war the confeadrate delaguts elect Tomas Jefferson as there president knowing that the British will attempt landings near or at the major ports of the south and to keep the goverment safe he moves the capital from Williamsburg to Richmond. Also Jefferson starts conscripting soldiers into the southern army also as per his rights as president he picks gorge Washington as the supreme commander of the southern army by time they are ready for war the british had already landed forces that in savannah,Georgia that numbered close to 3,200 infantry men and had also landed in charleston with 12,847 regular solders and loyalists. The goverment was only able to gather around 9,000 able bodied men what with the typical southerner caring more about putting bread on the table than fighting for a cause. So Jefferson told his supreme genrel gorge Washington to do whatever he chould to stop the advance.
Battle of Augusta
The britsh under magor genrel Augustine prèvost had advanced from savannah up into Georgia mostly unopposed that is until they reached Augusta were genrel Washington and his 9,000 men were awaiting him as the soldiers were firing rounds at each other in a field outside Augusta when suddenly the loyalist militia who had not entered the battle charged them on hourses from behind the southern soldiers were shocked and started to rout. This shocked them but did not at all shack major genrel augstine who had planned the whole thing and it had worked brilliantly he had worn down the southern army with a 2 hour long battle then wile the battle was going on he had the loyalist militia find all the horses they chould then when he gave th signal witch was the flag boy whould start waving the flag they whould charge. He correctly couculated that the rabble that was the southern army whould rout in the face of a cavalry charge even if it was untrained militia on the horses backs. Remanets of the southern army were forced to retreat out of Georgia in one foul sword Augstine had secured Georgia for the British empire.
Battle of Charlotte
Once the southern army retreated from Georgia genrel Washington adapted a hit and run tactic witch whould force the britsh to live off the land for an entire year genrel Washington ran around South Carolina. As genrel augstine chased him but most importantly the hit and run tactics worked by this point the loyalist milita had gone home to tend to there farms and took the horses with them so they had no Calvery to cut the southerners down with forcing the britsh army who had by this point linked up with the soldiers from charleston to steal and pillage the local farmers food, livestock and most importantly there livelihood all the wile genrel Washington recived a string of vengeful farmers. Eventually once Washington crossed into North Carolina he recived an angry letter from president Jefferson (who was getting nervous because North Carolina is awful close to Virginia) demanding he make a stand some were in southern North Carolina eventually genrel Washington took his newly swollen ranks of 12,000 men to Chorlotte were he chose to make his stand against the also newly swollen ranks of genrel augstine's 13,000 men. Arriving a week before augstine even got notce that he had stoped genrel Washington spent this time preparing the towns defences palisades were built a defensive ring of trenches were dug and if you got past the trenchs you still had to deal with the huge wooden pikes before you even got to the palisade not to mention the canons Washington had gotten from Richmond firing at you the whole time. When major genrel augstine arrived he looked at the defense and turned his nose up and and ordered his men to fully charge at the defense for thr rebels chould never stand up to his majesty's soldiers was his thinking and whould be his downfall . When the redcoats charged in hey were mowed down by canon fire gun fire wile having to doge the trenchs wile trying not to get shot and try finding away around the pikes and not getting shot and if you do get through all of that you still get shot because you don't have a ladder to get up the palisade. Wave after wave was sent at the southerners 2,000 britsh soldiers died before the army mutinied Putting Major Genrel augstine in a makeshift prison then retreating back to South Carolina. Washington was thrilled at this victory he had just forced the britsh back into South Carolina and for the time being severely mauled them wile taking little loss of life himself however Washington was no fool he knew he chould not Persue the britsh even though a good chuck of there army was destroyed there army was still only 1,000 les than his and was far more displined he knew that in a fair fight the britsh whould beat his army on the britsh side however the army was heavily demoralized and parliament was furious at this loss of life they promptly took augstine into custody striped him of his rank and all his possessions then promptly court martialed and hanged him installed sir Henry Clinton as the head of the British army of the south for around five months a stalemate happened the britsh unable to invade mar of the confeadracy and genrel Washington unable to go on the offensive but then Clinton came up with an genius idea called the costal campaign.
Costal campaign
Taking advantage of Washington's exposed right flank he used his entire army to go on the offensive at the North Carolina coast. His thought process was If I can capture the coast I can starve them of supplies then they will have to surrender. Washington was sent reeling at this offensive not expecting it at all the newly reinforced britsh army of 13,000 steadily advanced. So much so that in 2 months Fayetteville was under britsh control the confeadrate goverment was panicking and desperately raised more army's to send to the front in four months halve of North Carolina was under britsh control they then started invading Virginia witch sent the confeadrate goverment into hyperventilating mode the ordered Washington to stand his ground or be court martialed. The battle on the southern coast of Virginia was basically just turning the front into a stalemate again Washington had numbers but Clinton had displine the battle was a stalemate forcing both sides to retreat the britsh had effectively gained eastern North Carolina and Virginia's southern at the cost of putting the southerners permently on gard if they wanted to advance again it whould take them bloodto do so.
