Hiya

this is my first real thread on here, but I was curious about a certain scenario in my head. So what if we had a four way election in 1972. My idea for a POD for this is an assassination of Richard Nixon in the summer of 1970, leading to a few years of Spiro Agnew

needless to say, I'd imagine Agnew as the front runner for 1972, though only a certain crowd would like the bugger. But then, boom-dark horse Gerald Ford, moderate dark horse, emerges, leading to the establishment rallying around him. He barelydefeating Spiro Agnew for the nomination, and ultimately selects moderate John Anderson as running mate

meanwhile, on the democratic side, George McGovern still wins on the democratic side, but Shirley Chisholm does far more successfully, leading to McGovern selecting her as his running mate. Following this, George Wallace announces himself as a candidate for the American Independent Party, leading to Edward Brooke running as protest against George Wallace. Obviously my reasoning is weak so far, but I'd love help on expanding the idea, and for the moment, I'm just curious as to how this hypothetical situation would look
