1940 : La France continue la guerre - France Fights On

1940 - La France continue la guerre, also known as the Fantasque Time Line, is probably one of the most ambitious alternate history projects ever created.

The original work can be read (in French) at this address: https://www.1940lafrancecontinue.org/. It is also being translated by @Wings on this site: https://www.alternatehistory.com/fo...-france-fights-on-english-translation.524901/

In short, due to a series of (un)fortunate accidents, the French government rejects the idea of capitulation and decides to evacuate and continue the fight from North Africa, starting a chain of events that will cause changes from the Finnish arctic to the Vietnamese jungles.

Here are all the maps that have been approved on the original site (the story is not finished yet and it may take a few more years to be).

Due to the untenability of continuing the fighting in mainland France, the French government's strategy is to delay the German advance as long as possible in order to evacuate as many troops and materiel as possible to North Africa or Britain, this will be known as the "Grand Deménagement" (The Big Move).

Conquest of Italian Libya

During the evacuation of France, the Franco-British armies initiate a joint invasion of Italian Libya to deny the Axis access to the African continent, isolate Italian East Africa, and consolidate their position in Africa.
