1936 US land based torpedp/dive bombers

The USAAC didn't need no stinking torpedo planes, they had B17's who were more than capable of sinking any ship on the planet in a single strike, from 30,000 ft.

I initially wanted this, but it was expensive for a budget of $5m combat aircraft in purchases out of the $80M military budget in 1936. 1 $200,000 B17 vs 10 $20,000 Torpedo bombers for the same price. For the budget of 60 Torpedo Bombers I will have 6 B17s.

Even ATL wanked Philippines dont have $1.1B in budget to play like USA in 1936. During war maybe once the Philippines is spending 40-50% GDP for military on fight for survival. But peace time 1936, Philippine legislature wont approve that.

Does your $5m combat aircraft budget include an allowance for training aircraft or are these in addition? I would suggest either way the cost of these would be substantial.

I dont have a budget each year. But I do have a budget every couple of years to buy in bulk.

Training both aircraft and training of crew predates the $5m from 1936-39. Not unless I fit T6 Texan, minus the other combat aircraft, less P36, TB, DB, and PBYs. Do you suggest yearly purchase of trainers of around 50 or every couple of years would do of around 100-200?

In OTL, Philppine army air corp used Consolidated PT-1, Beechcraft Model 18, Stinson reliant, Boeing-Stearman Model 75 and about 50 other trainers but this is OTL 1941 equipment. I believe some these were also trainers since 1920s or earlier used by the OTL disbanded National Guard meant for WW1 and the Philippine Constabulary Air Corps.

Budget for OTL Philippine commonwealth army air corps for air equipment in 1935 P69,000 or around $34,500 for all air corps equipment not just combat aircraft. Thats the annual budget for OTL air corps equipment until 1941.
