Good grief, people.

Can we just agree that, despite our own opinions on how liberal butterflies ought to be used in alternate history storytelling, NiemanMarxist's story can still be a compelling, interesting, and enriching experience? Have we really gotten to the point where proper application of butterflies is more important than well-written, well-crafted plots and entertaining prose?

We're criticizing Niemanmarxist's story for being something that it is most clearly not. Can't we all just agree to let him tell his story and get over our own predispositions towards its probability? I'd rather see an interesting story than a supposedly 'probable' one, any day.

We can certainly do that; however, at the very least, this forum is not the correct one. It should go in either Pre 1900 or the Writer's Forum.
