Warren G Harding had intended to run for a second term as President, but died in 1923 of congestive heart failure. If he lives (never mind how -- perhaps his doctor forces him to give up drinking early in his term) how does the 1924 election turn out?
Given the Harding Administration's multiple scandals, is he guaranteed to lose or can the Republican Party turn it around? Might he be challenged for re-nomination? And who do the Democrats nominate given that they're going up against Harding rather than Coolidge?
