1920s Democratic Party with Neutral US

This is just a quick question: were the Democrats doomed in the 1920s with or without WWI? Of course, a lot of this depends on how WWI goes and how 1916 goes (we can assume the Democrats still won), among other things.

Without World War I, Wilson would still be a disastrous president (and perhaps moreso without a war victory). Assuming we still have a booming 20s economy, the Democrats are doomed for 20, 24, and 28.

Most of the major issues of 1920 were related to the aftermath of WWI (post-wartime boom recession, League of Nations, among others). Can we be sure much of this will still be the same ITTL?

Even before the DoW, the Republicans were recovering fast. The 1914 midterms saw them regain all of their 1912 losses, and some of their 1910 ones, while in 1916, despite narrowly losing the Presidential race, they pulled back even further in the HoR, to parity with the Dems.

Given the usual pattern of midterms, they likely still recover the House in 1918, but with a smaller majority, and with the Senate too close to call. I'd favour them to win in 1920, but more modestly - perhaps a "reverse 1916" rather than the landslide of OTL.
