1848: An Adams in politics

Charles Francis Adams, Sr. was the son of President John Quincy Adams.
Charles Francis was the unsuccessful nominee of the Free Soil Party for Vice President of the United State in 1848.
Suppose Charles Francis is a successful nominee. What happens then?

I think in 1848, Charles Francis Adams, Sr. who is 31, is too soon for him to enter politics. Will Free soil to small to gain any real power, unless, Adams can unite Free Soil and the Whigs.

What about having, Adams gain more experience, such as representative in Congress and Governor, before being Abraham Lincolns Vice President?

I just like suggesting alternative theories, allowing others to support or argue the idea.

My writing style is similar due to it being how my brain works out answers, although I dont believe it is relavent to this discussion, so would have prefered a PM rather then taking up space on this post.

I wasn't referring to you, sorry; I was referring to LeopoldPhilippe. He does this all the time; I think he's even been warned for it.

Meta-commentary on other peoples' posting styles is not a useful contribution. You've been warned before about being a dick, so you're kicked for a week.

He hasn't been warned for formatting his posts in a way you don't like. You have been warned for being a jerk and making useless posts.

I had Adams as the Liberal Republican presidential nominee in 1872, and somehow beating Grant.

Not relevant to your POD, but its the best one I could come up with.

This is similar to what I was suggesting, having Charles Adams coming into power later when he has experience rather then earlier as just a name.
