What is the impact of Tsar Constantine I being allowed to rule??? Just an FYI, in TTL, the Decembrist Uprising never happened.

Constantine had no legitimate children, so the throne would be expected to fall to the line of Nicholas eventually.

In OTL, Constantine was against Nicholas's Russo-Turkish War in 1828-29, so presumably it doesn't occur. In OTL, Russia won, and Turkey's hold in the Balkans was significantly weakened.

The Constantine Rouble, issued by a Russian mint unaware of his abdication, is a great numismatic rarity. It wouldn't be if Constantine had actually reigned.

Well Constantine was allowed to rign- he just didn't want to. However, since the decision had never been made public, Nicholas even ordered the men to swear allegience to Constatine

If Constatine decides to rule, its hard to see much change. His heir remains nicholas i

Couldn't Constantine get some legitimate heirs while he is Czar?

Or it's an autocracy so he just says, "Hey my kids are legitimate now, I am glad we have these talks."

Of course he could Alexander II legitimized his children and was planning to crown his second wife when he died A Tsar's power was limited only by revolution Constatine just didn't want the job
