1776 -> British Accept the American Declaration of Independence.

WI Parliament had accepted the American Declaration of Independence.

IE in August when the copy of the DoI arrives in London and is read to the Parliament, a Bill to recognize the Colonies Independence is passed by Parliament.

England sends a delegation to Philadelphia and negotiates Independence within the colonies 1775 Borders. See map below. Britain then withdraws it's forces North, West and South out of the Newly Independent Colonies.

This is before the Articles of Confederation are Written, & there is no War to get the Colonies use to working with each other.
Several of the Colonies have outstanding and overlapping Claims with each other.
There is almost no Colonial Money, or Banks, & very little industry.

?So what happens next?

I know this verges on ASB, [so let's not waste time talking about that]
But if the odd of England doing this are 1000/1 then by Timeline 1111, it begins to become more and more possible

Come on:( No-One:confused::confused:
?Can the Colonies survive? ?Would the colonies return to England? ?Or will some other Nation pick us off?

Negotiations...

IF there was some other crisis already in progress before the war started, I could see that happening, with certain conditions.
Britain must be in enough trouble that keeping the colonies militarily is clearly almost impossible.

Some possible independence conditions that I can see, in no special order.

Great Britain gets "in perpetuity" special tradeing rights.
Permanent (or long set duration) military alliance
Basing rights in certain cities--with modest payments
Some southern states may choose to remain with Britian
Chance the political union to a personal union.
America a monarchy, under a personal union--with identical laws of royal succession.
Great Britian proposes some sort of "Home Rule" situation in lieu of independence.

Just a few rambling thoughts...

The US would get the least land possible. The people in 1776 were still, I believe, pro-Empire so there could be an attack on the founders for separating us. Our commerce will not be protected by France in the beginning because there is no formal alliance, so it is easy pickings for pirates and Britons who want revenge. There is no national unity because the states never worked together to do anything and George Washington is just a no-name general who got his ass kicked in the French and Indian War.

I don't think the nation could survive without a war now that I think about it. It would probably ask to be run by Britain again when things turned bad.
