1500 Suez Canal

Make it some Sultna's pet project? Make Persia bigger and/or increase its antagonization toward the OE? Maybe the same reasons as the construction of the Canal du Midi in France.

Didn't they find stele that had been used to mark the route of one built by Cyrus, at least according to inscriptions?

I know there is evidence of a canal from the Nile to where the Red Sea extended at the time dating back to ancient Egypt and Darius, but that had been under horrible disrepair over the millennia and IIRC the Red Sea receded as well.

If the Suez canal is build could the Portuguese plan by Afonso de Albuquerque, if possible of course, to divert the Blue Nile to the Red Sea cause problems to the operation of the canal?
And to the life of the peoples of what us today Sudan and Egypt?
