I post this, knowing full well that Bruce, Ed and Alex will get all the comments
Ah well, here goes. The British Isles in my current scenario.
Inefectual Labour leadership, the trouncing of the Lib-Dems and the Conservative majority in the snap election in 2014 meant that Cameron was able to secure his premiership unbrideled. He then set off for the most radical shake-up of the British political system since the 1980's, effectively securing Conervative dominance of the Commons.
Things haven't gone well for anyone on the islands since then. Since the collapse of the European Union, Britain has started to really play with the Irish economy, something even the Unionists of Northern Ireland are extremely annoyed about as it's sparked a wave of militancy that lead to a resurgence of paramilitaries of both the nationalist and marxist stripe (green). They've gone so far as to create the "Free City of Cork" for Gods sake! Some in Whitehall see the situation as so they have even suggested intervention to try and restore order. Things are so bad in Ireland that civil servants are actually contemplating international suicide of that magnitude.
And this of course means that the Brits are back in good old Ulster, and this time there will be no "mistakes".....
And with the IRA and Asscociates back in action, why not a little militancy from the family? The Welsh (purple) and Scots (blue) are rather pissed off at Westminster imposing so many restrictions on their respective self-government seats, so pissed off that some people have even started listening to the nutters who think poisining Englands water supply is a good idea!
And finally, industrial action (red) in Northern England! Workers of the World Unite! And with the EDL there to add a little ethnic tension to the mix, things are looking nice and rosey.
