Altneuland and Rotschildhafen? Hm, seems at least partly German or Jiddish speaking, of which I approve. But seriously, Altneuland? Contradictary much? ;)

Something from the world of "Fight and Be Right"- hopefully reasonably self-explanatory...

Nice Territorialist Israel you have there. :D

I think he got the name "Altneuland" from here.

What's that quote about Jews and them being capable of disagreeing vehemently on an issue when there's fewer than two of them in a room?

Something to the effect of "Two Jews, one hundred opinions," though I probably butchered the actual quote. You could probably use a number of your choice in any case though. ;)

Well, Ive heard it less radically as "Whenever three Jews meet, there are five opinions"...

There's a very similar quote regarding my religion: "Get five Wiccans in a room, and you'll have six opinions".
Basically, it can apply to any non-dogmatic religion, especially those with little, if any, hierarchical organisation.

Norden with the British Islands? Hrm, LordInsane will be pleased, but I say it doesnt make much sense. ;)

Besides that, its a map of Europe with some countries coloured in and a colouring mistake in North Norway. Not very impressive, that...

But dont be discouraged, and welcome on the site ;)

It´s economic community. Britain was not allowed to join ECC so it went with northern option. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nordek

Did little time line to explain it little bit:

1969 New president of France Georges Pompidou continues Gaulle´s polity to keep Britain out of European Economic Community.
1970 Nordek is founded on reykjavik by Sweden ,Norway, Iceland, Denmark, and Finland.
1971 Britain applies membership.
1972 Britain is accepted.
1975 Ireland applies and joins Nordek.
1991 Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia apply membership.
1995 they are accepted.

- I could not decide What to do with EFTA members (Austria, Portugal, Switzerland) so I left them white.

Still not very likely But Isn´t this site for alternative history? :p

Better than the Russian version:

"Whenever three meet to talk politics, one at least is a fool and another is a police informer."

A modern map of Africa from the TL I'm currently working on.

As a side note, Democratic Federation was originally used similar to the way we use the term People's Republic, though as Marxism never gained popularity, the countries, while Socialist have/had remained Democratic.

A fairly random map, from a TL where the Crusader Kingdoms allied to a Nestorian Mongol Khan. The Nestorian Khanate was overthrown long ago in a Muslim reaction, and Nestorians are now persecuted minorities in Sibir and North (Imperial) China, but the descendant state of the Crusader Kingdoms still survives, the economic hub of the Mediterranean and Middle East, maintaining a careful balance through skilled diplomacy and a constant eye on the bottom line: with its eight religions and four languages, a byword for tolerance named after a not particularly tolerant early king.

Cross-posted from my Mississippi Rice timeline. Butterflies have moved some peoples about, and the names are often different from those used in OTL.

Already found an error: the Andros islands should be white. They are inhabited by the Calusa people, displaced from Florida by the Temegua and Muskogeans. They have become highly xenophobic and aggressive, and they will give this timeline it's version of the word 'cannibal': calusite.

The Celesian Empire

planet Terrneva, 2870 years after the colonial transport MIMAS crashed down on the planet (after being pulled into an unknown region of space by a unknown hyperspace effect).
The freight of the MIMAS consisted of: 300.000 colonists including material and animals bound for planet Roma Nova (Roman Revivalists/low level tech), 40.000 colonists bound for planet Triibaaldii (Inventive Creativists) and 15.000 frozen specimen of recreated sauroids including 40 persons of scientific staff bound four planet Crichton's Vision.
After loosing modern technology (which the Roman Revivalists didn't have too much anyway) civilization rose again and the Celesians (descendants of a group of the Roman Revivalists) built the largest empire on the planet. The actual level of technology is comparable to mid 16th century Terran Standard Calendar. Language is a bastardized form of Latin.

The pictures of the ships and dinosaurs I took from Wikipedia, everything else is my creation. Mountains and trees are brushes I found in the resources thread on www.cartographersguild.com - for its September Challenge I made the map.

If you find the labels hard to read, go to this map on my deviantART account and click 'download' to get the original size.
