russian industrialization

In the mid 1800s, Russia and the Ottomans came to blows over the crimean war and Russian want of the Balkans, but Britain and France involved themselves and while not necessarily a trouncing of the tsardom, was not good for it short term. But it highlighted the reforms the empire needed done...

What would the changes that would need to happen for Russia to industrialize keeping most innovations happening as OTL? I am guessing that it is related with the serfdom and more spending on economic development instead of the army as Russia didn't really have a strong bourgouis class to start...
