  2. An American Inventor in Paris:

Just discovered this TL today, and it is amazing! Loving the character work and attention to detail - really captures the feel of early 19th century warfare. Can't wait to read more! Makes me want to go see "Napoleon" this weekend (although I've been told it rivals "Jurassic Park" in the area...
  3. Making Beautiful Music: Vice President Brooke and Beyond

Subb'd with great interest. Swapping out Agnew in '72 was something that Nixon thought long and hard about, and a different VP pick will set billions of butterflies to flapping!
  4. WI: RFK vs Nixon in 1972?

@LAHistorian15 - Why MO for Wallace? Just curious because OTL, Nixon took Missouri by almost 25%. -Edit: semi-ninja'd

So very sorry for your loss. Allow yourself the time and space to mourn. Comfort yourself with fond memories and our thoughts will be with you.

  12. McGoverning

There is such depth of detail in each of these posts I have to read it at least twice (usually three times) to catch everything. Amazing work as always!

  15. ...Those Marvelous Tin Fish: The Great Torpedo Scandal Avoided

@McPherson - this is amazing work; I feel like I should be getting credit hours for reading this timeline! It's definitely deepening my previously surface-level understanding of the Pacific War.
  16. Gorbachev botched Soviet reform - but how?

Just how dependent was the Soviet Union on oil export revenue? Was this their primary/only source of foreign exchange? I'm starting to wonder if a significant proportion of the economic ills that (most likely) undercut Gorbachev's reforms were beyond Party control.
  17. Gorbachev botched Soviet reform - but how?

In most (if not practically all) of the "Soviet survival" timelines and discussions I've read, the idea that Mikhail Gorbachev mishandled the reform of the Soviet economy is treated as a matter of settled fact. My question is specifically how did he "drop the ball" on economic reform? What...

  20. Exit Stage Left: The Long Goodbye of Ronald W. Reagan (TLIAW)

Just found this TL and it honestly gave me chills. I've worked with Alzheimer's patients and their families in the past and your depiction of Reagan's condition here is sadly spot on. Kudos for your work so far; despite myself, I can't not follow this TL.
