  1. Best TV Episodes Never Made

Season 2, Rubicon, AMC. Season 3, Counterpart, Starz. Star Trek universe as a whole, make reference to CV-6 Enterprise - pic required in Picards ready-room.
  2. Alternative History Armoured Fighting Vehicles Part 3

Didnt know that. Just judged the outer visual. Kind of sticking by original design proposition.
  3. Alternative History Armoured Fighting Vehicles Part 3

T18 seems like the US counterpart to the Semovente. Also the term "KinderStuG(a)" springs to mind.

What would be smart is take a Merkava approach. Truncate the infantry compartment-stretch the vehicle to accomodate the turret, use the remaining infantry compartment left for more ammo capacity. I think such a vehicle might want wider tracks and a more powerful engine to maintain good mobility.

Mine too. I mean the pershing based one.
  6. Alternative History Armoured Fighting Vehicles Part 3

#2 looks like a Hummel if its hull down.
  7. Alternative artillery pieces never made

That's more of a direct fire assault gun, at least how it was used, was thinking more of something that could do direct fire, but was open top and doing Indirect like a Priest. Basically an American home grown 17 pdr.
  8. Alternative History Armoured Fighting Vehicles Part 3

Gavin - very nice. That would be a vehicle I'd wager would still be around today. Have noticed various recent sci-fi and superhero(?) movies using the Abbot itself in recent years trying to pass as US equipment. Can't think of titles though.

Help me out here - I've read that the 76mm on the Shermans was resisted at first (Abrams himself) because it had less HE explosive power than the regular MV 75mm standard on Shermans. So is the 76mm gun and ammo different on the Shermans than either for the 3 inch on the M10's? My big what-if...

Chieftain had another vid that takes on directly about Sherman verses other best weapons Good one for TD's also which he wrote a book on As part of the general discussion here I am curious how many folks here are familiar with this: The United States versus German Equipment This is generated...

Not 1/3rd Tigers - only about 1350 Tiger I and 490 Tiger II built. Between Zaloga and Chieftain the number of U.S. encounters with the Tiger I in NW Europe can be counted on less than 1 hand. Understand that MkIV with Scheurtzen skirts were many times mistaken for Tigers. From reading Zaloga...

I think it was Chieftain in his vid on Tank Destroyers that said lack of power traverse was about TD's were supposed to be as cheap as possible, so lack of power traverse was a cost consideration.
  13. Alternative History Armoured Fighting Vehicles Part 3

Things must be going pretty good in that ATL - by the tactical number, a pretty lavish TOE.
  14. Alternative History Armoured Fighting Vehicles Part 3

Can't help but remember the 90mm American Jagdpanther you did a while back - it was remarkable how close it looked to the German version. This M9 seems like a much better use of the old Lee's and Grants than IOTL, even for Pacific - especially if they make a 105 howitzer version - now you have a...
  15. Alternative History Armoured Fighting Vehicles Part 3

I know Galvaston Bay used The Operational Art of War computer game for just that on his Pacific War timeline.
  16. Alternative History Armoured Fighting Vehicles Part 3

Meant to find and post this earlier. It makes your point quite well about size. USS Cacapon off Korea, April 1952 from my Dad's old slides (just hitching a ride as a Marine). My guess is that the German 128mm is more compact than this at least what they put in the Jagdtiger. Bearing in mind the...
  17. Alternative History Armoured Fighting Vehicles Part 3

And rename the vehicle "Odysseus's Bow" or "Vater ist jezt zu haus". Pushing on from German late war napkinwaffe, question for Claymore, and not that the US would do anything like this in OTL, but what about a US vehicle SPA/TD based on the naval 5 in. 38 cal. looking something resembling the...
