Probably dead, more than likely. However, there is a small possibility that I may come back to it someday. Though if I do, there probably will be changes to the plans.

Busy. My daughter recently turned 4 and my son will be 3 in August. Between work and keeping up with them, things have been hectic. How are you doing?
  3. WI : Soviet Embassy in Iran Stormed (1979)

The bombings were they to kill Khomeini and other leaders of the Islamic Revolution would achieve much. As others have said, another advantage is that it would soften Iran up for an invasion. On the other hand, selected bombings with a campaign of assassinating the leaders of the Islamic...
  4. Discussion: Communist Germany, Fascist Russia, and Theocratic Poland

As Pope, he would be over Poland and all other Catholic countries spiritually anyway so I don't see an issue with that. It would just be another feather (or title in this case) in his cap.
  5. Discussion: Communist Germany, Fascist Russia, and Theocratic Poland

Why would he have to renounce his claims to Rome? Just because I suggested that he perhaps could be forced into exile and made ruler of Poland doesn't mean that he would give up his claim to Rome.
  6. Discussion: Communist Germany, Fascist Russia, and Theocratic Poland

To make Poland a theocratic state, what about having the Pope be forced to leave Italy (perhaps due to a Socialist or Communist revolution in the country) and he takes up residence in Poland and becomes the theocratic sovereign of Poland?
  7. Development of the French state if Henri, Count of Chambord, dies before 1870?

It's quite likely Prince Phillippe would become king and France would become a constitutional monarchy. How long the monarchy would last is a big question. It has the potential to survive to this day, but it has the same potential to end relatively quickly.
  8. WI Oliver Cromwell Lives Longer (to 1675)?

That's a good point. I'm not sure it would stop him, but it would make him hesitate probably. Actually, there were French emperors before Napoleon. Charles VIII, Louis XII, Francis I, Henry II, and Francis II all claimed to be the rightful heirs to the Byzantine throne (in other words...
  9. WI Oliver Cromwell Lives Longer (to 1675)?

Why couldn't/wouldn't a combined England/Wales/Scotland/and Ireland be considered an empire in and of itself especially since some of the Anglo-Saxon kings of England held Imperial titles and Henry VIII declared England to be an empire and the Crown imperial...
  10. WI Oliver Cromwell Lives Longer (to 1675)?

What are the chances that a longer-lived Oliver Cromwell would refuse the title of "king", but accept that of "emperor"? Imperial titles were not completely unknown to British monarchs and quite honestly Britain and its colonies qualify to be considered an empire.
  11. Leaders who would call themself facsist in a world where it is not discredited

I think maybe Chiang Kai-shek, Lee Kwan Yew, Fidel Castro (a stretch perhaps), Vargas, Peron, Qaddafi, Nasser, Sadat, Hussein, and Syngman Rhee may have called themselves fascists if that term hadn't been discredited. Edit: Park Chung-hee, Mobutu, and possibly Suharto are some other candidates.
  12. WI: The French Third Republic was indeed temporary

True, if it became a monarchy a few months later. However, if it didn't become a monarchy for say 2 to 5 years, then it would probably be considered to be a republic.
  13. WI: McDonald's acquired Toys R Us

I think they would do some combination of both.
  14. AHC: Turn a popular dictator into a constitutional monarch

An alternate version of the Samoza family might fit the bill.
  15. WI Britain Went Fascist

Just because Germany doesn't go Nazi by no means shows that Fascism has had no success. Italy, Austria, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Finland, and France could all have gone Fascist. Also, perhaps the Irish War of Independence draws in Scottish and Welsh insurgents which would prolong the war...
  16. WI Britain Went Fascist

Depends on the POD but perhaps WW1 ended in a draw and a negotiated peace in which Britain lost face and a "stab in the back" was believed to have occurred.
  17. WI Britain Went Fascist

It's true the BUF weren't strong in our timeline, but that doesn't mean it or some other fascist group couldn't come to power in a timeline in which Hitler and the Nazis don't take power and WW2 is averted.
  18. WI Britain Went Fascist

If Hitler, the Nazis, and World War 2 were butterflied, how likely is it that Great Britain could go Fascist and how might this happen without a failed Communist/Socialist/Anarchist insurrection? Who would be its leader and would the monarchy remain?
  19. WI: The French Third Republic was indeed temporary

It depends on what happens with the next government and succeeding governments. If there is a stable and successful monarchy which succeeds it, it's likely it will not be remembered fondly or may be barely remembered at all. On the other hand, if the monarchy falls decades later and is...
  20. Napoleon wins Waterloo and then dies

There will probably be a regency for his son. It might be possible that one of Napoleon's relatives might be able to push Napoleon II out and become de facto or even de jure Emperor. If things take a bad turn, the restoration of the Bourbons while perhaps a long shot is possible. The state of...
