    The result of invading Switzerland in WWII is said to be 'All my men would fire five shots, and go home,' but that's a prediction, not what's certain to happen. For this sort of timeline, that invasion might happen, and it would certainly make the war bloodier.

    It might hurt his chances in this timeline, but then again, he might not choose to run... or he might have been killed in the riots. That's absolutely possible unless the author says otherwise.

    Well, the launch systems will still benefit a lot from being further south (closer to the equator, and with the open ocean east of the launch site), though South Florida at this time might already be less culturally 'southern' than Alabama.

    The candidates are all having new speeches written, and there may be some new candidates coming up due to this, or one or two bowing out because it's 'not the right time' (id est, 'there is no way that being in charge next year will work out well for me').

    Given the trend, I suspect that the Winter War, or equivalent, will be even messier than the one in our history. Perhaps someone will be provoked into getting rid of Stalin, but by the time they are (if they're successful), another purge may have begun.

    IIRC, the current PotUS in this timeline is planning on not running, so threatening to primary him is an empty threat. Frankly, pardoning the Five if they were found guilty (or deciding to not try them at this point) would be a political disaster for the party of whichever president did it...
