  1. Alternate Electoral Maps

Really great job. It's good to see something that really stands out from all the presidential maps and the little silhouettes of Galactica and Pegasus are an especially nice touch. Excellent writeup/recap, too. It's also pretty cool to see the BSG writers put that much thought into the voting...
  2. Maybe The Horse Will Learn To Sing

Clearly, you take "ASB" rather literally. That gave me a nice chuckle when I saw where you were going with it. And then you succeeded in making a 90-year-old grandma scary. Genius. :) I have to say, though; I'm very much judging Mandy for not getting Her Majesty's accidental Inklings joke.
  3. Alternate Wikipedia Infoboxes

Is the GOP wiped out in New Jersey as well? The map's a little small to get details.
  4. Alternate Electoral Maps

Sparkman and Wallace would probably not be nominated by the Democrats, but I suppose you figured that. I also highly doubt Eisenhower would campaign for Stevenson, even through inaction. Amusing series, though. :)
  5. OTL Election maps resources thread

Do you know what made the race in western Vermont so close?
  6. Alternate Electoral Maps

Very cool maps.:) So, Working Families are yellow, I'm assuming orange are Conservatives, then? Also, maybe you posted and I didn't see it, but are these based off of statistics or a specific election?
  7. OTL Election maps resources thread

Yeah, I thought that was probably a mistake.
  8. Alternate U.S. National Anthems -- What Might've Been?

Yeah, I voted for "This Land is Your Land, too, because while "Battle Hymn of the Republic" is a favorite of mine, it mentions God at the end of every verse and chorus. So, I figure we let the other countries have grandiose anthems, we'll go for simple.

  10. AHC: Make Nixon Respected

Even with no Watergate or tapes he is still going to be thought of as the guy who started the culture wars. You would have to dramatically alter his policy towards the anti-war movement for him to be respected, and that would be more or less impossible unless there was no Vietnam war, since...
  11. WI: Romney doesn't pick Ryan for the VP slot?

Portman maybe lets him win, but not likely, as Romney still all-but-endorsed Ryan's budget plan. Portman would still help Romney with the base though, as he's not a "flip-flopper" and is a standard Republican or every issue, but I don't know that Romney needed to be playing to the base as late...
  12. WI 2012 Republican ticket Ryan & Rubio

Mourdock, possibly; Akin, no, since you have to have failed middle school science to think Akin's got something even resembling a point. Mourdock's opposition to abortion except to save the life of the mother is Ryan's postion as well, so an offhand remark, as suggested by Whanztastic is...
  13. WI 2012 Republican ticket Ryan & Rubio

Actually, Ryan could win the primaries fairly easily, as he is a standard conservative on most issues and has enviable name-recognition from his budget proposal. Rubio is a terrible balance, though. The guy never held statewide or federal office before his Senate "career" (Speaker of the Florida...
  14. Deo Vindice: A Very Southern Scandal

I figured Edwards was the one referred to in the TL's title, having rejected him as CS president in a TL I was working on when I found out Rielle Hunter is from Florida. Looking forward to more, esp. who Edward's VP is.
