I still don't understand why France start with only 3 research slots while Italy who was in even worse shape start with 4. It take age to unlock all research slots and by the time you do the game is already over.

L’Aigle Triomphant: A Napoleonic Victory TL

No the common peoples themselves cared nothing for colonies and had little say in the matter, but the elites and politicians certainly did and even sometime it was the ambition of a few select individuals. Saying Europeans wanted colonies is wrong, most of them cared about making ends.

L’Aigle Triomphant: A Napoleonic Victory TL

Indeed, there was a reason why the German Empire and Italy wanted colonies so much, it was a proof of a country prestige and great power statut. To lose them was a blow to national prestige and the demotion to a third rate power.

L’Aigle Triomphant: A Napoleonic Victory TL

Napoléon is more likely to reestablish a kingdom that pick up the legacy of à formerly conquered country. Certainly not a republic.

That's not a good idea, it's a rival for the throne of France.

How could we keep the Swedish Empire as a Great Power into at least the 20th century?

Even if Sweden managed to unite Scandinavia and keep it, it still would not be a great power, they just lack the population for it. I can't see them managing to conquer any land in northern germany and keeping it for long.

What should the United States, Britain, and France, have done differently regarding Germany, and Europe, at the End of World War One?

I do think giving what Italy wanted would have easily kept Italy on board but that's with insight.

What should the United States, Britain, and France, have done differently regarding Germany, and Europe, at the End of World War One?

That's what Emperor Wilhelm I said in his letter to former impress Josephine, Alsace-Lorraine wasn't taken so much to increase german territory but to weaken France.

WI/AHC: European leaders converting to Islam to circumvent Church authority

I don't see it happening, if one tried that he would lose the support of his vassals, be forced to abdicate at best, or deposed by his own vassals or even family if that doesn't invite invasion by by neighboring countries. It's hard to even see the troups directly under the king staying loyal...

Wow condescending much or you are that arrogant by nature to think a whole nation are misguided children?

What should the United States, Britain, and France, have done differently regarding Germany, and Europe, at the End of World War One?

And all were opportunistic moves, any of the powers that could give support to the baltic, Finland and Romania were busy fighting or being occupied by Germany, so Stalin had no fear of retaliation. As for the Eastern Bloc it's another matter.

What should the United States, Britain, and France, have done differently regarding Germany, and Europe, at the End of World War One?

So you believe the USSR would have started war on conquest on Europe without a "strong" Germany in the way?

What should the United States, Britain, and France, have done differently regarding Germany, and Europe, at the End of World War One?

Except Stalin was never all that interested to do that, at best he retook some land lost by the Russian empire. But the idea that the Red Army was ready to start rolling west is just dumb and overrestimate soviet capabilities.

What should the United States, Britain, and France, have done differently regarding Germany, and Europe, at the End of World War One?

I know the belgians went with the french. I still think Versailles wasn't that harsh, and the economic hardship Germany had was due to mismanagement. They did not have to rebuild their whole industry nor had entire region devastated never to be used again and somehow it's Germany that...
