Alternative History Armoured Fighting Vehicles Part 4

Great work as always @Claymore with the two builds - do you have any idea as to the colour scheme that you will paint each of them? I keep thinking about the Crusader in the desert btw.

Smashing model and I love the backstory! I get the feeling that you might have wanted to employ / use the Excalibur during your service.

De Havilland Vampire enters service in 1944

I'm surprised that no-one else has thought of another benefit to a Vampire squadron or two joining the BPF. Namely, a quick climb with a few kegs under the wings and, cool beer for Jack Tar. From my experience a cool pint or two goes down a treat in the Tropics.

De Havilland Vampire enters service in 1944

The impact of the British Pacific Fleet having and employing jet aircraft in the latter stages of WW 2 would be interesting. I wonder if this speeds up Naval development a few years.

I always loved the Otter and its IFV counterpart the Mammoth.

Smashing. I shall text that to my Basque friend.

What If These Two Warships Met In Combat

Completely understand, likewise I too exercised the right of innocent passage with arrays extended to better understand whale migration patterns as part of the same oceanographic research project.

The Dingo is a good suggestion and I like the Ferret. There I was planning to use them as a precursor to the V - 22 (i.e. vertical envelopment from a commando carrier).

So I'd be looking at an underslung load at best or a recoilless armed Vespa.

Alternative History Armoured Fighting Vehicles Part 4

Random question - does anyone know what size AFVs could have theoretically fit within the cargo hold of a Fairey Rotodyne?

That's a good looking alt armoured vehicle, how would the inclusion of the Excalibur change doctrine within the British Army or RAF Regiment?

AHC: Make Mexico Great in Timeline-191

I'm in the middle of writing it, so if you're willing to act as a beta reader and provide feedback. I'm happy to share.

AHC: Make Mexico Great in Timeline-191

What advantage would Franz Ferdinand provide to Mexico as their Emperor? As I have only read mixed reports about the man's capabilities. I really like that as a change, however it would prevent the CSA from pursuing a coast-to-coast dream. Although, it is likely to be greeted with a grunt by...

She's not winning any beauty prizes either! What changes would need to occur, so that the armament could achieve a higher elevation & faster traverse speed?

Alternative History Armoured Fighting Vehicles Part 3

Presumably the Skink would still find a role providing suppressive fire for infantry attacks during WW 2, much like the role performed by the ZSU-23-4 Shilkas in more recent conflicts. Come to think of it, I wonder how a few of these vehicles could have helped the UN forces during the human...

AHC: Export options for the B-58 Hustler

That's an intriguing prospect was the upgraded Hustler going to be like the changes made from the original F/A 18 Hornet to the Super Hornet? Essentially, a completely new air frame that looks similar and, shares the same designation.

Alternative History Armoured Fighting Vehicles Part 3

How did the Skink track aircraft? Was it just with an optical tracking package (i.e. iron sights)?

AHC: Export options for the B-58 Hustler

For those of you that are unaware of the Convair B-58 Hustler. It was the first operational bomber to reach Mach 2 speed and was developed in the 1950s for the USAF Strategic Air Command. With a rather fetching delta wing design powered by four General Electric J79 engines, the Hustler...

That is an utterly gorgeous build @Claymore . What does the Eagle represent - is that a Divisional insignia?
