    The problem with strong client states is that if they're strong enough not to need their overlord, they're going to look after their interests first and their overlords second. Weak client states are more reliable and dependable than ones that are strong.

    This was hard to choose. On one hand Carthage/Phoenicia is fascinating to me and the possibilities of a Carthaginian/Punic led Mediterranean are fascinating, but I went with Scythians because well, they're more of a mystery and their culture seems very interesting from what we know.

    I think part of that is the fact that in Europe there was a greater density of railroads, while people forget just how big Russia is and how hard it was (and expensive) to connect some of those far flung areas via railroad.

    I'd say one of the strategic mistakes for the USA was the issues with the ordinance bureau. Possibly could have skipped the torpedo problems and not being prepared for tank warfare (m3 tank) so close to the entry of the US even if the military was small.

    The Bitish didn't delay the evacuation when hundreds of manned bombers and fighters attacked the Dunkirk pocket. Those are more accurate than v-1s so why would those suddenly be better? Seriously, the V-1 is just not that effective.
