  1. Keynes' Cruisers Volume 2

Are they going to scrap long range bombers?
  2. A Glorious Union or America: the New Sparta

Always glad to see a post on this most excellent of a timeline. Shame the Navy is at the bottom but to be honest naval tech is going to be rapidly changing so much that at this time unless your are GB riding the wave is going to be costly, so a decade or so of just maintaining might not be bad.
  3. WI: The Enterprise completes its five year mission (Star Trek survives for 5 seasons)

An idea for Riker. Murder in the holodeck (may also let him team up with the chief engineer about too). Starts off with Riker enjoying a laid back pool hall, maybe playing an instrument as well, in Holodeck 1. He gets interrupted. Ship sensors has detected so and so's life signs to stop...
  4. AHC: Longest running TV show possible?

Uh, soap opera, some of them have been around for a real long time.
  5. Ocean of Storms: A Timeline of A Scientific America

What an awesome opportunity. I am glad you got experience a long time wish.
  6. The Star Wars Story: how George Lucas and Steven Spielberg held Hollywood hostage for 20 years

I would keep the same thread. Just go back and edit the thread marks.
  7. The Star Wars Story: how George Lucas and Steven Spielberg held Hollywood hostage for 20 years

Ha e Marvel be bought out by WB. I'd love a section on the gaming section. It would make sense to have a section dedicated to Star Wars games. Though I could see them also doing partner deals with other companies to make Star Wars games too.
  8. It's A Long Way To Nagasaki: The Anglo-Japanese War

Been meaning to bing this for awhile, and it was worth it.
  9. The Star Wars Story: how George Lucas and Steven Spielberg held Hollywood hostage for 20 years

Interesting. I imagine a few of the interactive things might either be one of those things that early adopts the internet or dies after awhile and is looked back upon as came a bit too soon. Maybe some are revived after the Internet gets really going. Also seems prime for an early HGTV...
  10. The Star Wars Story: how George Lucas and Steven Spielberg held Hollywood hostage for 20 years

A thought, Spielberg was supposed to do a D&D movie but something came up, maybe another director tapped to do the next Star Wars film gets injured and they move him over to helm that. So they ask Donner to step in and it is really good so he makes a sequel. Then Spielberg steps in and makes a...
  11. The Star Wars Story: how George Lucas and Steven Spielberg held Hollywood hostage for 20 years

Great update, but very sorry about the loss of your dog. 😞
  12. The Star Wars Story: how George Lucas and Steven Spielberg held Hollywood hostage for 20 years

I would expect to see a sequel or sequels following Luke looking for his sister and rebuilding the Jedi Order in either the late 80s. I wonder if we will get more than three Indiana Jones movies.
  13. The Star Wars Story: how George Lucas and Steven Spielberg held Hollywood hostage for 20 years

Excellent. Most excellent. [Vader breathing sounds] Now we get to the next interesting bits, where does Indiana Jones go without George's ideas mix with Spielberg's, where does Star Wars go from here. George isn't around to tinker or delay, he had ideas for another trilogy (sequel?), but...
  14. The Star Wars Story: how George Lucas and Steven Spielberg held Hollywood hostage for 20 years

I like it. My only quibble is the end scene with Luke and Leia. It seems from the senen they did the deed and are having a kid, or is it Han's? Given Han and Leia declared their love at the end of Empire and she collapsed when she was told he died the scene is kind of odd. Maybe...
  15. The Star Wars Story: how George Lucas and Steven Spielberg held Hollywood hostage for 20 years

Happy to provide comments, I am glad if you feel they are useful. You could still cast Toshiro Mifune however. A couple of roles he could fill. - He could take the role of Ackbar and lead the Alliance fleet in the attack. I think you'd have to give some more screen time though (and likely...
  16. The Star Wars Story: how George Lucas and Steven Spielberg held Hollywood hostage for 20 years

Maybe the opening crawl could mention a massive crackdown and killing of many rebel spies and sympathizers, the already draconian imperial hand has grown ever tighter. Thus they need to go to other sources, this your trading cartel guy. I still think going another death star or multiple is...
  17. The Star Wars Story: how George Lucas and Steven Spielberg held Hollywood hostage for 20 years

More comments later when I am at a computer, but a couple of items: Okay four death stars being built near or above the imperial capital? And the Rebels had no idea? That just doesn't make sense to me, as in don't they have any spies or sympathizers? Not against the idea just the location...
  18. The Star Wars Story: how George Lucas and Steven Spielberg held Hollywood hostage for 20 years

Happy to provide it, just hope it is useful.. Obviously I am here to see what you do with Star Wars and Lucasfilm (especially Indiana Jones). Also Lucas is known for pushing boundaries in film, sound, etc. thus what his absence might mean to the industry. Will we get to see Spielberg helm...
  19. The Star Wars Story: how George Lucas and Steven Spielberg held Hollywood hostage for 20 years

Take your time and tell the story you want. Sometimes a story needs to meander a bit before bringing it all together.
