1916, 28 June 1942, Reykjavik, Occupied Iceland Captain Lawrence Dodd had steered the damaged liberty ship Richard Bland back to harbour. She was the first ship to turn back after running aground on uncharted rocks off Iceland. It had taken some Homeric efforts from his own crew and the...

Actually I think @Gudestein has it correct to a degree. Of course, in capital ship engagements, one bad hit can determine the result. At longer range, the Germans will really struggle. The MK3 fire control system on Washington could detect a shell splash at 20000yds. Surface and air search. Far...

Yes, taking refuge on a foreign ships may be counter productive to the native Hawaiian cause. What you say in regards to Cleveland is very true. Grover Cleveland is only six weeks away from assuming office. He was very much a non expansionist President. Of course, 1898 and the Spanish American...

Yes, very much so. Yes, it would take a lot to bring the US and Japan together, but the threat of another external power is always the number one motivator for alliances.

Yes, I think any warship explosions are off the table, at least from a saboteur point of view.

Earmarked for the Pacific with the Wasp Task Force. It cannot be underestimated how short on heavy ships the allies were in early to mid 1942. The only ship the British had in theater not working up, under refit or repair was Malaya. KGV, QE, Valiant under repair, Rodney refit, Nelson on her to...

Hey, it was a pretty shit design, but it had been to Norway before. Many German designs left a lot to be desired, legacy of having no continuity in regards a design team.

Yes, twins and singles. Effectively it is a mini dreadnought, just with cruiser rate weapons I suppose. For that reason, will likely not be considered. Of course, engines are still triple expansion.

That probably won't happen, but she will not stay on passenger runs to Europe post the 1893 election wash up. Thankfully, the ship has partially been refitted for cargo and the vents of 1894 will see a use for her. 1893 will see a major diplomatic incident, followed by a war in 1894.
