  1. Would the Jews have been persecuted if Huey Long was elected in 1936?

The most pertinent quote I found indicated that he disapproved of institutionalized antisemitism, if anything.
  2. Would the Jews have been persecuted if Huey Long was elected in 1936?

Huey Long on Hitler: "I don't know much about Hitler. Except that last thing, about the Jews. There has never been a country that put its heel down on the Jews that ever lived afterwards." Maybe you're being a bit too reflexively anti-populist here.
  3. If Theodore Roosevelt wins in 1912 what year does he get the US to join WW1?

Teddy was the running mate of Bryan’s opponent in 1900. That’s the real problem, they were in opposing parties.
  4. WI: Admiral Yi dies before or during Japan's invasion?

Be that as it may, they're both foreign religions from essentially the same place, and they both proselytize aggressively, so they'd both be seen as potentially disruptive.
  5. REDUX: Place In The Sun: What If Italy Joined The Central Powers?

Doubt the Entente have the manpower to try. And since I think they still attempted Gallipoli they won’t have the appetite for another huge amphibious campaign, the only alternative to an Alpine campaign.
  6. Was Tsar Nicholas II a good ruler?

And I doubt this continued digression is relevant. Would you want a discussion of how good a ruler Stalin was to center on Adolf Hitler instead?
  7. Was Tsar Nicholas II a good ruler?

I want to say a bit of both, but it does occur to me that if Nicholas had tried to quit the war at any time before the February Revolution, there may well have been a coup against him to keep Russia in the war. Still would have been worth a try considering the state the country was in.
  8. REDUX: Place In The Sun: What If Italy Joined The Central Powers?

As bombers they weren't that good. But for naval reconnaisance they were quite potent, and the British weren't able to field an effective countermeasure until 1917 IOTL.
  9. Cliches and unrealistic things to avoid in my Confederate victory scenario.

I think the point about the CSA not abandoning slavery easily is the most important of the ones raised so far, to which I'll add that no, I don't think economic pressure from Britain or anyone else would be remotely enough to convince the Confederates to give it up. IOTL they endured one of the...
  10. Was Tsar Nicholas II a good ruler?

Slime blob has been making exactly that case here. He summoned you in the hopes that you'd back him up.
  11. REDUX: Place In The Sun: What If Italy Joined The Central Powers?

    Rennenkampf can't be underestimated either.
  12. Was Tsar Nicholas II a good ruler?

If Nicholas was going to be ignored and rejected by anti communist forces anyways then he wouldn’t be much of a liability to them either.
  13. Was Tsar Nicholas II a good ruler?

One could say the same thing about the Bourbons, and yet they still got restored to power in both Spain and France after getting deposed. It's not hard to see why the Bolsheviks didn't want to take chances on that again.
  14. REDUX: Place In The Sun: What If Italy Joined The Central Powers?

The Germans can station zeppelins in Italy now for even more of an advantage in naval reconnaisance, right?
  15. WI: Admiral Yi dies before or during Japan's invasion?

It doesn't, but people will accept three or four PODs in the same timeline if it's a Japan-wank, the new Ameri- or Brit-wank.
  16. WI: Admiral Yi dies before or during Japan's invasion?

Because abetting genocide in a region you hope to trade with seems a bit counterproductive.
  17. To the Victor, Go the Spoils (Redux): A Plausible Central Powers Victory

From what I remember from an earlier TL on this site, they wouldn't even need to go back to Leopold, because during the war the Belgians used a coercive coolie system to support their colonial forces that was so extreme it caused Congo Free State-level deaths all over again.
  18. How does the American Civil War play out if Texas is independent?

Texas not becoming a US state would impact the balance between free and slave states by itself. You might not even get to the ACW as we know it with all the changes in the 1840s and 50s.
  19. REDUX: Place In The Sun: What If Italy Joined The Central Powers?

I guess I'm still surprised to be hearing that even by 1914 the Italian army was still so fixated on war plans against France that when they entered the war IOTL they simply had no contingency planning for war with Austria-Hungary instead. Everything I've heard around here said that the Italians...
  20. REDUX: Place In The Sun: What If Italy Joined The Central Powers?

I think you have Falkenhayn, at least, at "This strategy could free up German troops to win the Western Front."
