  1. The Footprint of Mussolini - TL

I met the history since POD.
  2. The alternate US of the Great Nebraska Sea.

Right .There would be tons of oil and natural gas deposits down there so although it would be ideal and nice if none of it was tapped it would also be pretty naive and unrealistic to expect that. That said that doesnt totally preclude green energy being much more developed ittl by 2023 -50...

    Alternate warships of nations

Let's see. This ship: Has terrible armour plating Is not getting anywhere Has very good guns but they shoot all over the place Sounds like this thing might even be worse than HMS Captain. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMS_Captain_(1869)

    Alternate warships of nations

I like your idea. In. In a TL of mine I have something similar being done by the RN to improve the KGVs after the treaty falls apart early. And yeah I think even if my suggested design enters service through some miracle it would be astoundingly bad.

    Return of Horrible Educational Maps

I've seen the Reddit thread that this map is taken from and the covering of the Roman Empire and Denmark refers to two things. Firstly, the Romans did ship elephants across the Empire, most famously Claudius used some in the invasion of Britain. Second, the 'spillover' to Denmark refers to an...
  10. European culture withou ww1?

I am not sure about religiosity. Europe saw decreasing levels of religiosity at least since the Enlightenment, the trend is not just going to get reversed for no reason. Once people get educated and become exposed to various ideas, religiosity drops. The process may even be accelerated as more...

A Difference Of Fate: A Late Roman Timeline

Also not to be underestimated how much Ricimer's hand may have been forced. Majorian was not all that popular with the Italian aristocracy to begin with, and guess who has to deal with their discontent while Majorian is putting out fires everywhere. While Majorian was winning Ricimer could keep...

    The Plantagenet Succession

Agreed, I thought after the Gloucester and Anne scenario people would look to get rid of Woodville at the least. Other than that interesting update! I take it Tudor ain’t getting his throne here?
  13. Alternate warships of nations

It's a derivative of the KGV just using the fact that it will have decently lighter and smaller machinery to good use, oh and adding a transom stern and a bulbous bow to increase speed with all the costs of the required water tank testing be solely paid for by my nation since I am of course a...
  14. The Plantagenet Succession

Only because Anne was declared a bastard and Richard III betrothed her to Howard, TTL that's not happening. But fair enough.

    Threadmarks: Chapter 112: Battle

Chapter 112: Battle May, 1459 “It’s begun, Sire.” A voice said. Henry extended his hand and took the looking glass from the man and pressed it to his right eye. Sure, enough as he focused it, he saw that the fighting had begun. He could see the men carrying his banner fighting with men...

The Union takes Smith Island: whither Wilmington?

I would say that it was always possible. These amphibious assaults were usually a matter of willpower and focus on the Union side. For example, to support Burnside’s North Carolina expedition, David Hunter’s force could have been diverted from the attack on Charleston to Wilmington. I suspect...
  17. The Plantagenet Succession

I won't say the genders or fates of the children, but there are at least three children to the marriage.
  18. Was WW2 still inevitable without the Nazis?

Would the Tashio Period still end in Japan? War is inevitable with the militarists in charge they were absolutely insane.
  19. WI: Catholic Church splits apart in the 16th Century

You can easily split the Church into two competing camps (each styling the other an antipope) in the sixteenth century--have the 1527 sack of Rome go a lot worse with Clement VII killed. With Rome under Hapsburg occupation, there is no way the subsequent election is going to be treated as...
  20. WI/AHC: US aligned Asia, USSR aligned Europe.

The biggest problem with keeping the Cold War going in any TL is that the USSR's problems were internal. Their economy was just in a state of decay. I was wondering if the Communist Western European nations would be enough to keep the Soviet economy afloat, but it seems like the USSR needs to...
