  1. For All Mankind (AH Tv series at Apple TV)

It was also nice to see a Star Trek alum from Enterprise Linda Park aka Hoshi Sato as a journalist towards the end of episode 4...
  2. DuMont will make TV work: A TL

The PTN shut down just as in OTL. After the acrimony of the court ruling where the Justice Department forced Paramount to divest its shares of DuMont, the well was too poisoned for them to work together for the time being. Paramount also planned the PTVS in the 70’s and shut that down before it...
  3. How much would it cost the modern UK to rebuild the Royal Navy to 1960s/70s levels of fleet strength?

Let's frame the capability against a likely opponent capability at the relevant point in time --- RN 1965 against plausible 1965 opposition and RN 2021 against plausible opposition in 2021 (perhaps PLAN if we project an East of Suez mission). What were the 1965 RN missions: intimidating the...
  4. The Plantagenet Succession

Put it this way. I was not being a #ThickShitDumbDumb when I picked Cecily for Henry Tudor. It will, in a few chapters' time, make sense as to why...
  5. Was WW2 still inevitable without the Nazis?

And it achieved what exactly? Stalin was burying his head in the sand anyway - I doubt the Nazi propaganda had any impact and this before Germany concocted and actually launched the stupidest of stupidest plans the world has ever seen What? No - no not matching wits with a Sicilian - that's...
  6. Feeble Constitution - A Red-and-Green Russia 1917 Timeline

I know. Not only did a lot of (real) time go by in which I mulled over lots of things, but didn't have (still don't really) time to write and elaborate much on them, but also a lot of narrated time in the TL has gone past now and places have not been covered for 2-3 years (like Spain or China)...
  7. The Plantagenet Succession

Margaret of Clarence or better one of the daughters of Suffolk? They are all cousins of Edward from his paternal side and would be more appropriate than Cecily or Bridget as bride for Tudor
  8. What if Henry VII and others died Richmond Palace fire of 1497?

I know absolutely nothing about this thread but I suppose that Arthur wouldn't die as young (they'd make sure he would be kept safe at least until he had a male heir). He would probably still marry Catherine as the Spanish would gain even greater influence over England (with the death of...
  9. Place In the Sun: What If Italy Joined the Central Powers?

Yes, and? Now we're not even disagreeing.
  10. Place In the Sun: What If Italy Joined the Central Powers?

As far as occupying France goes, the only model I can see happening is like OTL France in WW2 where Germany annexed Alsace-Lorraine, Italy took the southeast part, and the rest was split into more or less north and south (with the South being Vichy France).
  11. Frame

The Third Rome - A Byzantine Timeline

I'm always down for a Byzantine tl. Watched!
  12. Gokbay

    Alternate warships of nations

Have the Spanish buy a cruiser as well and name it Gibraltar when taking it over.
  13. The Plantagenet Succession

At this particular point, they haven't married. You'll soon see why. Alas, I need the Herbert ladies for something else.
  14. AHC/WI: Stronger IJN light cruiser line

Did trade protection cruiser not get designed to protect trade against raiders mostly AMC conversions like that used by Germany in WWI & II against the huge volume of world trade that was critical to GB interests and even feeding the home island? Locals could be dealt with by simply gunboats...
  15. Xenophonte

The Third Rome - A Byzantine Timeline

Well, for a Byzantine TL this a rather unusual though interesting starting point... I'll be following this with interest.
  16. Christians of the North: A Tale of Celtic Christianity

I know that I was just using the word Viking as a catch-all term because not everybody will understand.
  17. A New Britain - A British Political TL (1995-)

And may I ask what rationalization/explanation you have for one party winning FIVE(!) straight presidential elections in the US? I do not intend to come across rudely, but this just is entirely unrealistic. Especially with John Edwards as the candidate.
  18. The Plantagenet Succession

Not the heiress, but one of her aunts.
  19. Japan surrenders after Battle of the Philippine Sea

I said nearly, not over. And yes not simultaneously , so what? No one used their planes all at once. Now some wouldn't have been built and some were built in 1945 but it would still be a very significant number available.
