  1. Horus Triumphant - an Alternate Antiquity timeline

Farewell, Alexander. You were one of the Giants of the ancient world. Moving on from that, I think it's going to be interesting to see what happens to the transplanted Samnites in Bactria.
  2. Case for coastal artillery until the 1980s

Most 3rd world navies didn’t have PGM until very late in Cold War and the ship guns are mostly 4 to 5 inch ones But then it’s the ability of let’s say Harpoon for land attack to accurately distinguish targets before 1990 ? Not sure how good it was maybe knowledgeable members can please comment
  3. What if communism didn’t exist

You can't have a "communist nation" is the thing, or partially apply it, because communism is both anti-nationalist and anti-state. What you had were socialist states led by communist parties, who (usually) viewed socialism as an intermediate stage of development before the state can be...
  4. Case for coastal artillery until the 1980s

A ship's a fool to fight a fort but 200 years later and precision munitions means your fort needs to shoot and scoot... but it can't.
  5. Case for coastal artillery until the 1980s

Where did these Irish coastal guns come from? another option is fitting guns of the number of retired ships but in this era they are mostly 5 or6 inch with range of 20 km max if I’m not mistaken ?

It's Just My Job: A different path for Apollo in the 1960s

Hey guys, sorry for the lack of updates. I am going through midterms and some real life stuff, so I don't know when the next part will be posted.
  7. Much more aggressive UN peacekeeping missions

    Maybe Iran Iraq war ?
  8. Case for coastal artillery until the 1980s

Even training will use up the lifespan of the liners thus degrading accuracy, I know from family stories while the Irish coastal guns could still hit the target rope in order for a tea break, at range due to wear it was spray and pray due to age and usage.
  9. Suicide weaponized by Soviet bloc

Can Soviet bloc starting from 50s ( and PRC even later) produce suicide weapons to compensate for their technological inferiority aircraft ramming for bomber interdiction Suicide attack boats / Suicide human torpedoes Suicide soldier squads that can go behind enemy lines Piloted cruise missiles...
  10. AHC: Jewish POTUS Before 2015

How about Ed Koch? Say he defeats Mario Cuomo in the 1982 New York gubernatorial primary and wins the general. Thus, he could plausibly run for president in either 1988 or 1992 - though the rumors about his sexuality would probably hurt him.

As Dreamers Do: American Magic Redux

True, but I think he can be the start towards an increased awareness of sexual violence if Abbott managed to exposed both John Kricfalusi and Bill Crosby, especially the latter. I guess we'll see how he fares against Harvey Weinstein or Kevin Spacey.
  12. The Eternal Empire: Emperor Maurice dies before being overthrown

I see some more tax evaders near Venice, on islands near the Dalmatian coast, on Mount Athos, and on eastern Ibiza.

Much more aggressive UN peacekeeping missions

Nope. Can’t think of a time when their interests would align for such a thing. They each always had a stake in a conflict so they’d never do this.

The Undying Empire: A Trebizond Timeline

I should also note that now is a good time to ask questions, if anyone is interested
  15. Much more aggressive UN peacekeeping missions

Nope, as I said at the end of the chain one or other of them were either instigating the events or at least letting others do their work for them.
  16. DBWI Hindenburg appoints a civilian government in 1933

The German Republic, often called the "Weimar Republic", ended in 1933 when President Paul von Hindenburg, acting on the advice of the Chancellor, Schleicher, order the dissolution of the Reichstag, Reichsrat, Lander governments, and political parties and tried to institute a military...
  17. Case for coastal artillery until the 1980s

Coastal defense of ports harbors in an era of escalating defense costs. Mount the precious AshM on warships Can see some use of it , in conflicts from 1955 to 1985 good point , other than ammo production what else is needed given they will not be used very oftenWhen do guns of such caliber...
  18. ImperialxWarlord

Much more aggressive UN peacekeeping missions

Yeah but if they don’t make these changes at the UNs conception then the Cold War would make sure no one would want them to be too powerful. Neither side would agree. An early 90s POD is the best time time, no Cold War but before the worst fuck ups.
  19. For All Mankind (AH Tv series at Apple TV)

Pathfinder looks like it was made up entirely by writers without actual scientists asked about it. Why make a shuttle for a Mars shot? A nuclear engine? How did they reach a decent safety with that? What happens if there is a accident? They aren't gonna fire that in atmosphere or even LEO...
  20. Galloway and the Plan of Union: A Saga of a British America

I stated that my next update would be about the Indies, but I think there might not be enough to say. Instead, I will be covering the other new world colonies as a whole and possibly the non-British and French European powers in Europe before moving back to British North America.
