  1. How important was the Dunkirk evacuation ?

You are aware of the Indian Divisions that took part in the Italian Campaign I hope?
  2. The US adopts the FN Model D in 1937 after a more successful Axis intervention in the SCW

Not FN, FM (Fusil-Mitraelleur or Machine-Rifle), aka Chatellerault LMG https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FM_24%2F29_light_machine_gun Belt fed weight, depends on which of the different methods was used, if it was an add-on, permanent modification or new-build, whether other niceties added like...
  3. The Forge of Weyland

Guderian might need to seek asylum there if another German attack goes awry.
  4. Suicide weaponized by Soviet bloc

So far I have not seen any detailed reports regarding how many fires and internal explosions (and their origin) occured in Western and Soviet tanks hit during the Arab-Israeli wars, based on the type of ammunition that hit them. Naturally tank losses were more common for the Arabs since they...
  5. WI: Indo Europeans, migrate East, then conquer Europe

I talking about the Neolithic period and the formation of western steppe herders. Guess you're referencing to Salvador's comment, i wasn't talking on that. Well the contact with the CHG shows that they were in contact with the people of the middle east through the CHG and other people in the...
  6. WI: Ford had built the Mustang as a wagon?

Have a Mustang wagon appear in a hit movie or TV series. How would that go? Maybe some kind of sci-fi or futuristic show, or a superhero's vehicle.

What if Australia picked something more fun than dollar?
  8. Bering Strait Bridge Built During Detant

For the cost of such a bridge, I think you could BUILD two identical sister cities (Vladieattle & Seattok?) each with a port and airport plus all the required connections to the rest of their countries.

    Suicide weaponized by Soviet bloc

barely competitive. Less power, less processing, like Doppler and phase-arrays. They stayed with Active IR long after the West had gone with LI and passive IR
  10. The Forge of Weyland

The original was a punishment for failure or disgrace on the battlefield. The legionaries would draw lots, and 1 in 10 would draw a bad one, and be killed by the others. Meanings change - hasn't been used as a punishment for a while, and doesn't mean 10% any more.
  11. The Forge of Weyland

A thought (loving this story btw), now the French are able to start planning instead of constantly having to react, won't this mean that they'll be able to break out their Methodical Battle doctrine, especially if they can bring the artillery forwards that was needed for such a thing?
  12. American version of Algeria

Probably not what you're thinking of, but in a certain sense South Carolina and Mississippi would've fitted that description in the 19th Century - with the caveat that whites were a much larger minority in those states than Europeans in Algeria.
  13. The Third Rome - A Byzantine Timeline

I think the same but then we have the example of Babur. Maybe Antigonus will pull off a Mughal here. Given the name of the timeline is third Rome, it seems likely to me. In any case excited to see where OP takes this.
  14. Cinco de Mayo
    Threadmarks: Boss Hill

"..,the debate on how to approach the potential replacement of the late Justice Bradley [1] raged within the Liberal Senate caucus, especially once Hill announced his nomination of New York Court of Appeals Judge Denis O'Brien as his replacement. O'Brien was a respected jurist, a former New York...

Half the crew of Komsomolets died from exposure in the Barents Sea after their reactor SCRAMmed and they had to abandon ship

Romanov Ascendant: What if the Soviet Union survived?

Just made one up, this would represent the world as of mid 1993. With that latter question, I want to leave it as kind of a surprise, i've made some hints and also some false clues throughout though, it'll start to become clear as we end the 90s. Quick edit: Spain is in fact in NATO
  17. Could the Germans have destroyed the Anzio bridgehead

Maybe early on in the battle. OTL the German strategy was to screen any landings, contain them & probe, then defeat them as the enemy tried to expand inland. Kesselring bought off on this due to the difficulty in maintaining local defenses & reserves on Italys long coast. He had his army...
  18. The Forge of Weyland

And the bank vaults are very capacious, and very secure. Also the bankers will accept any items of value, and not tell anyone.
  19. The Forge of Weyland

i always thought it was one tenth left as in down 90% oh well either way not good
  20. Case for coastal artillery until the 1980s

Umm, there is more to Scandinavia than fjords you know. One of the canonical (heh) examples is this place https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fem%C3%B6re_battery?wprov=sfti1 covering the entrance to Oxelösund. Basically what made them useful is very confined difficult to navigate waters with broken...
