Well, indeed. Who wouldn't be? And Marie would certainly much rather Margot was a Queen than a Duchess...

    WI: Yugoslav Trieste

The Italian public would be angry for a short while, but unpleasant memories of the fascist era will preclude them and the state from pressing on the matter. Anger will likely fizzle out with time. As to Yugoslavia, the effects are negligible. It already has a long, useful coastline, and even...
  5. WI: decisive Spanish victory in the Dutch Revolt

Except Genoa was also declining...all of the Italian merchant Republics were in decline for the fact that the Mediterranean just wasn't as major a focus in terms of trade anymore. While either country could make the economic and financial changes that the Netherlands did had they existed in such...
  6. A Queen Twice Over: Mary Tudor the Elder Marries Francis I of France

Well, the problem is England doesn't have any bride of appropriate age, and the proxy (Margaret Douglas) is too young. France, however is a possibility but I don't know exact number and gender of Francois's and Marie's children.
  7. An 1-engine fast bomber for 1935-45?

I probably echo some thoughts already mentioned. Early war the powerplant just isn't there and everyone has far too thick wings for anything to be considered "fast" compared with contemporary fighters. Late war the powerplants necessary for "fast" are monsters so CofG concerns tend towards...
  8. As Dreamers Do: American Magic Redux

My very humble opinions on your ideas: 1) Yes, absolutely on board with this. While we're at it, maybe get rid of the Roddenberry Box too. 2) Sorry, but Next Generation without Sir Patrick Stewart would be like Ben-Hur without Charlton Heston. 3) I actually liked OTL's casting choices here...
  9. How important was the Dunkirk evacuation ?

They would be crippling for the next year or two at least. Wasn't the Wehrmacht crippled after Stalingrad? Total number of troops Operation Crusader: 118,000 Total number of Allied forces First Battle of El Alamein: 150,000 Total number of Allied forces Operation Torch: 109,000 215,000 troops...

A Queen Twice Over: Mary Tudor the Elder Marries Francis I of France

Given the major victory by England and France could King John of Portugal be looking for a bride from the victors? @FalconHonour
  11. The Forge of Weyland

At least two major and dozen minor harbours and a good road network should take care of that. Also the dutch had a lot small coasters intended for the North Sea and Baltic Trade. No need to use big ocean going freighters to supply the Netherlands

I think Genoa can fill Netherland's rule.
  13. The Forge of Weyland

Putting fighters out on a forward airfield so they have to fly back to defend the BEF really doesn't make much sense

  19. What if Argentina won the falklands war?

I wouldn't say the loss of Atlantic Conveyor was the only reason it was a close-run thing historically but it seriously contributed, possibly more so than the loss of Ark Royal (possibly not, I am on the fence). With Atlantic Conveyor and her helicopters though, it is a vastly different story. I...
