  1. Photos from Alternate Worlds II (read FAQ first)

Pieces of memorabilia from the Martin Luther King, Jr. Presidential Library in Atlanta, Georgia. Where this photo originated
  2. AHC: Bob Saget elected Governor of Maryland

Then make him a huge Hillary supporter, bringing in voters and money.
  3. WI: Castilian-Portuguese union instead of Castilian-Aragonese union?

Wouldn't a surviving Miguel de Paz + Ferdinand having a son with Germaine of Foix work for this scenario?
  4. Lincoln Lives: How a failed assassination changed the course of a Nation and a newly freed people

Someone once pointed out that the people portrayed in the musical Oklahoma! grow older to be the people in Grapes of Wrath. I can see this TL’s Oklahoma!, particularly the first song in Act II: “The [racist slur] and the cowboy should be friends. The [racist slur] and the cowboy should be...
  5. TL-191: After the End

I would say that Great War One and Two are most focused wars on popular culture in USA and Europe.

The Eternal Empire: Emperor Maurice dies before being overthrown

And he will grow up to be Romanos the Mad, the worst Emperor of Rome, even worse than Honorius, Valentinian III (a disgrace to his name), and Petronius Maximus. Combined. Speaking of mad emperors, I assume the best OTL equivalent for how Caligula is seen ITTL would be how say Maximinus Thrax...

WI: Castilian-Portuguese union instead of Castilian-Aragonese union?

That pretty much depends on luck, considering the power of the French war machine around 1500. Barring any strange or unlucky events, I'd expect French puppets in Sicily, Naples and Milan, with Savoy added to the French domain directly.
  8. WI: Castilian-Portuguese union instead of Castilian-Aragonese union?

Maybe they could loose Naples, but keep Sardinia and Sicily?

The Eternal Empire: Emperor Maurice dies before being overthrown
Threadmarks: Part 83: The Short Peace

Part LXXXIII: The Short Peace Andronikos was utterly humiliated by his capture and subsequent peace agreement. Almost immediately upon his return to Antioch the surviving soldiers deserted, returning to either their Danube bases, or simply going home. His officials shunned him, and he knew they...

WI: Castilian-Portuguese union instead of Castilian-Aragonese union?

In that respect it's just the problem with having a common expansionist neighbor. The big difference is that Aragon doesn't have Castile's military power or territory to draw on, so it's weaker and more vulnerable to French attack. As I said above, this is most likely enough to tilt the...
  11. Obscure AH Websites

Valtakunta.eu is fairly standard "what if Nazi Germany survived the war?" stuff, although with an emphasis on the author's native Finland. Also features a partitioned Italy, Korea-style.
  12. WI: Castilian-Portuguese union instead of Castilian-Aragonese union?

Also, a Habsburg-Aragonese alliance against France seems very likely.
  13. America Be Watching With The Popcorn: A Sino-Soviet War TL

Because with the ABM treaty, the Americans decided that the system wasn't worth the trouble to keep running or developing further for one site and shut the program down. And at that time, the technology was not ready for a hit to kill system for exo-atmospheric intercepts. We now have that...
  14. The Palace of the Red Land - An Alternate History of the Minoan Civilization

Always nice to have a bronze age tl. Gonna be watching. Nice update btw.
  15. WI: Castilian-Portuguese union instead of Castilian-Aragonese union?

Aragon becomes the one weird spot in Iberia that never becomes part of Spain, and is the subject of many a thread by me asking how different is Aragonese from Spanish and why didn't the Spanish just annex them. https://www.alternatehistory.com/forum/threads/what-makes-portugal-special.107022/...
  16. The Undying Empire: A Trebizond Timeline

That was a lucky break for David. The Rumites look very formidable. I would not have liked his odds even with Kartvelian support. Gonna go out on a limb here and say the Mongols here are a result of the Kazakhs having just steamrolled the region and sent the Nogais and Astrakhans into flight.

    Somewhat novel idea for Vinland

I suppose a decent base for a small farmstead that could lead to future expasions but for anything major somewhere like the Magdalen Islands are a better bet. Newfoundland and Atlantic Canada has no shortage of offshore islands.

    TL-191: After the End

This might be a bit meta, but, what is alternate history like in this timeline? What are some of the more popular WIs? Is the Second Great War as popular as WW2 IOTL? Speaking of which, what conflicts get the lion share of focus in American academic media? IOTL, the Revolution, Civil War, and...
