  3. AHC: Make Japan into a multiparty democracy

Was there any longstanding issue in Japan that they could've addressed at the time, stuff like wage increases, social programs, the works? The fact they had three prime ministers in just three years can't have helped, either. For a POD a few years before, what if the DPJ won a majority in the...
  4. What are some likely convergences?

Perhaps I should reframe my claim to say "highly likely to be united as soon as governments move beyond feudalism into centralization."
  5. How important was the Dunkirk evacuation ?

wonder the the effects on USSR (Stalin chiefly)? twofold, relations with Germany and relations with UK? can imagine less hard bargaining with Germany at the end of 1940? would they gamble against the UK, for instance over Iran?

Read the specific update again. Turns out I was wrong and MALAYA was only heavily damaged. I stand corrected.
  8. WI: Root vs Wilson in 1912

Wilson- & maybe in a landslide(how many voters in 1912 had even heard of Root? He certainly does not strike me, from what I know about him, as a very charismatic figure- & by 1912, candidates for POTUS were no longer expected to remain quietly @ home, they had to go out there & talk. They had...

  10. WI: Hellenistic Tarim Basin?

I was under the understanding that Han expansion west had more to do with crushing the Xiongnu and securing the trade og Jade which had been cut off after the destruction of the Yuezhi Gara state in 173-171 BCE. Conceivably, the Hellenic Tarim state would potentially cut this trade off if they...

    Sir John Valentine Carden survives.

I cant resist.A lot of CMP trucks were built, knocked down to various degrees ,crated as kits then shipped to various allied countries for final assembly(including about 10,000 chasis for armoured cars).BUT these would be complete vehicles or just add a body to suit not bits and pieces sourced...
  12. The Undying Empire: A Trebizond Timeline

let's hope the Kartvelians win because the consequences of losing is steep indeed. The Caucasus will most likely fall into anarchy again if the Golden Horde wins this battle, and I think the Kartvelians know this.

AHC: Make Japan into a multiparty democracy

The reason they couldn't maintain it was because of a perceived lack of progress. Ask any Japanese person and they'll tell you the Democratic party got in and proceeded to do nothing. I think if they could make pass some popular, high profile laws, they could hold on better.
  15. Sir John Valentine Carden survives.

That was more-or-less my point too. Honestly, it would be better to my mind to switch those manufacturers originally planned to produce A22 components to produce components for the Valiant instead. Very rarely I suspect, and if it happened at all, it would be for major components (engines...

The Indra Mk. The Mk. II was built after a decade and a half of failed prototypes and...
  18. The Forge of Weyland

Where would you park them? OTOH a lasting fortress would spur interest in a fighter than can at least loiter across the Channel.
